  1. 8-20lb Braided powerpro, usually 8lb, always with a 20lb+ fluro leader.
  2. As everyone said before, fish everything. All the canals should be good to go as long as you park in a ok spot. WARNING We are absolutely against any form of illegal fishing and will not allow any such threads or posts advocating such activity. All such posts are deleted. In addition, any material or posting that advocates or discusses illegal activities, with or without the intent to commit them, is prohibited.
  3. I've been killing it with ZoomBait JuneBug Red paddle tail worms. Texas rigged, reel them all kinds of ways, little faster/steadier for top water and sink/reel for underwater action.
  4. I just fished some canals not that far north from S41, from 9am-12pm this morning, Even with this cold the fish were active. Caught a 4lber on the 5th cast. Texas rig, June bug red, reeling all kinds of ways. Paddle tails, split tails and baby brush hogs
  5. Post an ad in the local Craig's list and I'm sure you'll find someone that will rent you something for the right price.
  6. I went to BassPro today to buy another Procyon.... they were sold out!!! dannng
  7. Jeeez #60 for bass fishing? Where's the fun in that? Haha! All my bass rigs are with #20 or less. If you work em right you can catch almost any bass on 10lb braided with a 20lb leader. Y'all just want to haul them right in, half the fun is the fight.
  8. So what do y'all think of Daiwa and more specifically the Procyon? I just picked up a Procyon 3000 and slapped it on a 7' ft rod. Casts a mile with the flick of the wrist. For the price I'm really satisfied. It casts just as well as my Stradics and reels just as smooth if not smoother. Daiwa has come far over the past couple years.
  9. Texas rig all day Zoom bait paddle tail worms, different colors(mainly JuneBug Red) depending on fishing area. Zoom bait baby brush hogs, color JuneBug Red. Sometimes reel them in a bit faster to make them top water. That paddle tail action is where it's at.
  10. Everything I mentioned should be available at WallyWorld.
  11. Zebco Dock Demon Rod/Reel Combo ~ $14.99 (I don't think this is offered at Bass Pro though) 10lb Power Pro Braided line ~ $12-$15 Pack of 4/0 hooks ~ $3-$6 Box of bullet weights ~ $5 Bag of soft plastic Zoom bait ~ $4-$6 yyeeaahhhh laugh about the Dock Demon.... fun as hell to fish with, easy to use, compact, cheap, ANNNDDD Zebco replaces them if reel is broken. I used one for about 6 months until a very large bass snapped the reel from the rod and while I was hand pulling it in, it spit the hook. Zebco replaced the whole thing.
  12. Well I've been fishing the SouthWest Florida fresh and salt waters for 15-20 years now. I've never really thought about joining a forum until a buddy was telling me I should put some of knowledge to good use and I guess this is how I'll do it haha. I fish anything and everything. Little ponds, canals, nooks, anything with water that looks like it holds fish.
  13. 250 acres is big around here haha. My suggestion is if you see fresh water(lake, pond, canal or whatever) then fish it, as long as it's legal. Canals by the gas stations? Fish them. 50'x50' pond that looks like nothing? Fish them. Trust me you won't be disappointed. I've caught some of my biggest large mouth in ponds less then an acre in size. Stay away from it if it looks like a new lake/pond or near construction because it's most likely newly dug. Remember as long as it doesn't have a NO FISHING sign then you should be good. I know I'm BRAND new to the forum but I've been fishing south-west florida for 15 years now and have decided to start giving back. Stick to the edges and banks, when casting out, take your time. I've had year round luck with all kinds of soft plastics with a 1/16 oz or 1/8 oz bullet weight on the leader using a 3/0-5/0 worm hook, rigged weedless.
