Need to pair up a rod with Abu REVO SX
Ended up going to Dick's and getting a 6'6" Rage for 74$!! Then added the $12 2yr warranty from Dick's... The $12 was then removed from because St Croix covered the Dick's warranty cost! Feel like I walked away with a steal.

Need to pair up a rod with Abu REVO SX
So I recently purchased a new Abu Garcia Revo SX and need to decide which rod to get for it ($100-$200 price range). Looking to get something 6'6", solid rod,(leave my rigs locked inside my truck so I can hit the water whenever), with medium action. Any suggestions?

Taking family to meet Mickey in Orlando...I wanna meet some Bass!
x2 on this.... I fish any water in Florida and there is bass in all of it. Best bet would be a Zoom June Bug Red UV Worm w/4/0 hook. I really doubt you'd want to spend an entire day fishing either, Disney is huge.

Southwest florida bass cool weather
Been doing great with white ice flukes, and june bug red UV zoom worms(no surprise there).... Until some of this Lake O crap hit our canals. I haven't caught a bass in three days... Other than that I bought a new Abu REVO SX, pumped about that, haven't caught a fish on it yet though.

Ten Billion Gallons Of Polluted Water Pumped Into Lake OkeeChobee!
The past 10 days have been terrible down here. All of my go to spots in canals are completely lifeless, no bait, no solid vegetation, not to mention they're all at least 5'-8' higher then normal. Some of my great spots that I save for fishing this time of year, and usually have clear water are all brown, lifeless, no fish. I was tossing a white fluke and it actually turned brown from the water. We'll feeling the effects of this all the way down in south Collier County.

What Knot To Use To Put Braided Line Together On Spool.
I have no idea how it happened but about 35-40yrds in on a spool my line was cut. Not frayed, or damaged, clean cut. I tied it back together with a fisherman's knot and cut the tag ends relatively short. Will this be alright or should I just retie the leader at the cut point?

Problems Setting Hook While Using 7" Zoombait Flukes
Thanks everyone for the replies. Problem is I can't find anything bigger than 5/0 hooks, guess I'll order some online.

Problems Setting Hook While Using 7" Zoombait Flukes
I've been fishing with the 5" fluke for quite a while and started fishing with the 7" flukes a few months ago. I've been catching bigger fish while using the 7" flukes but it seems I can only set the hook 1/3 times while using it. Really ticking me off because I had a monster on today, it jumped, spit the fluke and the hook was still set weedless in the lure. Any suggestions? I'm using 5/0 worm hooks with it.

Picayune Strand State Forest (South Of Alligator Alley) Fishing Report 3/25/15
YEESSS I get caught off guard by the snook sometimes because they'll hit worms too. Yeah I've fished there, water is not running right now, everything is pretty shallow, some of my normal 10' + places are 3-4', normal for this time of the year I guess.

Your Fav. Colors During The Spawn?
IMO it depends on the location. Where I live I strictly use JuneBug Red, White Pearl, or Watermelon Red. If there's fish I'll usually get a bite. When I fish in WV with my grandpa, I use bright greens/whites or dark purples/whites.

Your Cheapest Combo?
Zebco Dock Demon rod and spinning reel combo, $15.99 at local walmart, and some 10lb braided I had laying around... I can't believe no one has posted that yet. It's fun to use and if you break it Zebco sends you a brand new one... I know because it's happened to me. I exclusively fished with this combo for 3+months because it's compact.

137Th And Tamiami Trail Today, Dead.
Look for more shallow areas, with life, the peas and largemouth are bedding over in the southwest FL area I am. Big largemouth come right out of the weeds/out of nowhere. Hit em up with the pearl white fluke and some Zoom Bait UV Speed Worms, dark colors.

Picayune Strand State Forest (South Of Alligator Alley) Fishing Report 3/25/15
I grew up fishing and hunting in the area. It's actually a pain in the rear end to access if you don't live in the golden gate/rural estates because they won't allow regular traffic to access everglades rd from the alley. Two ways to access it... One is from everglades rd, driving over the alley and the other is from I-29 through Copeland onto Janes Memorial dr.... I'd advise though... right now the whole area is going through some HEAVY construction and it's all mud and water. At some of the most southern points I had to turn on 4-wheel drive. Here are some solid fish I caught along Immokalee rd, just a few miles east of I-75... People always ask me "Where do you fish??? You're always bringing in big ones" umm well honestly, I hit anything and everything because you never know what's in the water. EDIT: Sorry about the sideways pics, it won't let me post the hyperlink and it won't let me rotate the photos in my album on here.

Picayune Strand State Forest (South Of Alligator Alley) Fishing Report 3/25/15
Well the day started off great while canal/weir hopping in the Picayune Strand, fish left and right but nothing 2lb+ before 11am. 11:30am hook into a snook that came from nowhere but hook was spit, definitely a keeper but oh well. Started catching some big ones after 12pm, Texas rig, reel it in fast for 2-3 seconds so it appeared as top water and then let it sink to bottom where we kept getting thunks... Some of the bigger fish for the day... Still wondering how I hooked that last one. EDIT: It would not let me post the images with the hyperlinks so sorry about the small pics.

Daiwa Ardito-Tr Casting
Yeah, it casts nice, handles nice when reeling fish in. I've used a Daiwa Procyon 3000 ex on it and a Stradic 3000 with 10lb braided on both. Balance compares to some of my St. Croixs.

First Topwater Bass 2015

How Do You Guys Stock Your Bank Back Packs?
5 assorted Zoombaits as follows: 2 sets of Zoombait UV speeds, 1 pack of lizards and 1 pack of 7" flukes in case there is some biiggggg boys. Use Texas Rig on all of them. I have a 6 part flat box, I keep two topwaters and 2 crank baits in that, along with a spool of fluro leader, 5/0 worm hooks, assorted weights. Pair of pliers as well. Knife is kept in pocket. I've NEVER had anything more than those items in the backpack I carry, besides food and drink. Small Jansport backpack. You're in Florida and you know how bad the weeds get. We almost never use cranks or top water because we know how good the fishing is on/near weeds. Sometimes I just trow a bag of zoombait in my cargo pocket, a tin of weights/hooks and spool of fluro but it depends how long/far I'll be going.

Nice! I've been hitting it hard with top water in the shallow canals, well I call it top water... just walking a Texas Rig. Been catching some lunkers.

Reels
Penn Battle 3000 complete combos are running $100-$130, and those are pretty nice.... If you already have a rod then spend a few extra dollars on the new Daiwa Procyon Ex 3000, reel cost me $124 at BPS.
