off of my last post for best $100 rod, now I'm looking for suggestions on the best $100 casting reel? (besides lews)

For Less Than $90 Bucks -

 

The Pinnacle Producer LTE Casting Reel is tough to beat.

 

Fishes like a reel well beyond this price point.

Tatula is another great option. Just used mine for the first time a few days ago. May pick up a few more.

X2 on the tatula.  Or the bps pro qualifier. The pro qualifier is one of the smoothest reels i have used.  Truly a great buy.

Regardless I went with a Tatula when looking at this myself and don't regret the purchase, but Lews would have been my second choice otherwise. Just curious why you don't want a Lews.

Tatula gets the nod even though I find it too big for my hands.  Otherwise you can get the Bass Pro PQ's for under a $100 and on sale for $80.

Im a lews convert. I dont think you can truely buy a better reel at $100. If you have $300-$500 you buy a daiwa or shimano every time.

 

The new lews LFS is an aluminum frame and having just been on the phone with their CS today, theyre excellent to deal with if something goes wrong.

 

If not that reel id be on ebay buying a curado 201G for $125

just because i have a couple lews reels already and there great reels but looking to try something different

Penn Battle 3000 complete combos are running $100-$130, and those are pretty nice.... If you already have a rod then spend a few extra dollars on the new Daiwa Procyon Ex 3000, reel cost me $124 at BPS.

Lews and tatula both are great but mine are over $100 i have a pflueger frion under $100 which performs well pfluegers are rugged and durable as well

If the Tatula is comfortable in your hands it gets my vote for best reel around $100 right now.  It does retail higher, but if you trust buying new from ebay stores (I do) you can get it brand new under $100.  The only concern is making sure that it is comfortable for you before buying, other than that, it is an awesome reel. Especially once you factor in price.

I have or had Lews, Abu, Shimano, pfluger, browning... And my favorite is and I keep coming back to Shimano. I just put ceramic bearings in my Shimano and abu, and my Shimano's are so much smoother. All my spinning reels are Shimano, 4, 4 of my baitcasters are Shimano's and I will slowly replace the rest with shimano's. I will tell you my Canean is very nice, it is a granite frame, but put a set of hawg tech bearings in it and you have a reel that is as good as anything you will pay 200+ for I promie you that!

You can get a Quantum Energy for around $100 on flea bay, you might find some Shimano Citicas there too. Watch the flea market here and you can score a slightly used reel, I've never been disappointed.
