  2. I've got the opportunity to pick up a user Calais for $100. That's why I've brought up these two reels.
  3. Should I stick with the new Shimano Citica I or pick up an older Shimano Calais cl200?
  4. I've fished the Duckett Ghost and the Abu Garcia Veritas. The Ghost's sensitivity is incredible. If you don't plan to use any fluorocarbon over 12 lb test or braid, then the guides won't be an issue. Of braid or heavy fluorocarbons are necessary, then steer far away from the Duckett Ghost. I love the Veritas 2.0 though. Great sensitivity and the guides are decent quality. Hope this helps.
  5. They are the same exact reel. Only difference is the heat side spoil bearing is an antirust bearing. For the additional $30 bucks you could improve your Citica with a full set of Boca Bearings or the performance bearing of your choice.
  6. Really is a mute point. I already have a Tatula that it will be paired with. Also rather unsettling that they are willing to sell a $100 rod with a $100 reel for, wait for it $100. Guess the Triumph X is out.
  7. I know Academy still does over the counter swaps. Bet warranty in the business in my opinion.
  8. I am trying to figure out what rod to get. It's primary use will be for jerkbaiting and it will be paired up with a Daiwa Tatula 6.4:1. The three rods I've narrowed it down to is: St. Croix Triumph X 6'6" Med Falcon Bucoo 6'6" Med or the Abu Garcia Veritas 6'6" Med What is your opinion? *** *** Black is not an option because I have doubts about their craftmanship.

  10. Cleveland Lake in Belton is starting to wake up. Johnson Lake in Raymore has been slow.
  11. Thanks guys. It seems pretty unanimous that micro guides aren't for frogging. Really appreciate it.
  12. I've just started testing some Spiderwire Stealth. It feel super smooth compared to PowerPro. I've used CX and was severely let down. Line snapped on two hook sets. For fluoro, I will never use another like except for Sunline Sniper. I LOVE that stuff. Just my .02.
  13. I'm looking to buy a new frog rod. I am trying to decide between a Veritas conventional or a Veritas Micro guide. The rod will be used primarily as a frog rod. I must turn to your infinite wisdom as to which direction to take.
  14. I'm looking at getting a new reel and I've been eyeing the Curado due to its popularity. I'm just confused about the difference between the two. So, what's the difference and is the E worth the $100 difference?

  16. I come to you guys one more time. Can someone please tell me something about this reel? I want to kinda know about it's performance, durability, and how much to expect to spend on one. Thanks in advance guys.
