  1. I was looking for travel rods last summer and also saw Okuma has a Citrix travel line. I ended up getting two of the Daiwa Ardito baitcasting rods and they have done very well for me.
  2. I picked one up a few months ago. If I remember I started a thread about it. If you have any other questions let me know
  3. I've been using a 7' 3" MH/F Daiwa Cronos with an Alphas SV spooled with 14 lb Sniper. It's worked great so far but I have thrown them on M/F Spinning and Casting rods as well with good results.
  4. If you can save up a little more money, I would get some Sunline Fc Sniper. Its all I've used but I haven't found a reason to change. It doesn't have horrible memory. After a few casts the memory is pretty much gone. I also haven't had any random break offs or knot issues.
  5. I managed to snag a couple pictures. Hopefully this helps This is the first guide On the left is one of my Arditos on the right is the Cronos. The Ardito is approximately .134" in diameter vs .0915" on the Cronos. Sorry not really the best pictures. I hope that helps.
  6. Good guesses but it's a Corgi.
  7. I'd like to get one of the lighter 2 pieces as well. What are some of the better places to look for one? I see them on ebay but that's about it. I will get some pictures after work tonight.
  8. I haven't seen much talk about these rods yet. My girlfriend was nice enough to tell me to order a rod for my birthday that's in a few weeks. We split the cost and I picked up a 7'3" mh Cronos. We both like the ardito rods we have so I figured I would try one. I got to try it out for about an hour today. Even though I didn't catch anything I can already tell it's going to be one of my favorites. I tried it out with both 14 lb Sniper and 50 lb power pro. The sensitivity is great and it seems to balance pretty well even with a light reel. It is a little tip heavy but not enough to bother me. The only 2 things that will probably take some getting used to is the smaller guides and the thinner grip but it's no deal breaker for me. I would definitely recommend checking them out. Everyone seems to love pictures so I figure I'll throw a few in. I'll be going on a fishing trip next week and will probably be able to give some more updates on it. Please excuse the hair. I swear our dog sheds 10 lbs of hair a day.
  9. If you do, let us know what you think. I'm definitely wanting to grab one for myself.
  10. I'm in the same boat. One I hear a lot of people recommend is the original Tatula rods. I have their Ardito travel rods. I like them a lot, so I'm probably gonna try a Tatula eventually.
  11. http://Do you mean like this? If you look at the outside bottom of the rod case there is a small picture showing this is normal.
  12. Another vote for the Alphas sv.
  13. I really like the Owner Phantom tube hooks.
  14. I figured I would help people out here that have money burning a hole in their pocket. Sportsmans Warehouse is doing an online deal for St. Croix rods. If you spend $150 dollars or more, you get a $50 dollar gift card. An Avid X for $150 seems like a great deal. It ends on 6/30 by the way.
  15. I really like my alphas sv. It is much smaller than my Tatula type r. It can be a little finicky to dial in at first but does well after you get used to it.
  16. Its happened to me and my girlfriend before. Makes a birds nest not quite as bad.
  17. Hopefully this makes sense but this is what i do. Pick at it where the line comes onto the spool. Then test it by pulling on the line below the first guide. If that doesnt work, then rotate the spool slightly and do it again where the line is messed up. Test by pulling and Keep repeating it until it comes free. It should come out.
  18. That's good to know. I was surprised at how oily it was. I went with the intention of getting the KVD but I guess they don't sell it or they were out at the Bass Pro in Vegas.
  19. I just picked up my first line conditioner (bps house brand) and it worked great on the sniper I just spooled.
  20. I haven't tried that many different spinning rods but I really like my 2 piece fenwick hmg.
  21. I used a Curado 200I on mine and it felt pretty balanced but since the 70 is lighter I would agree with I.rar above it will probably be a little tip heavy.
  22. I have a 2 piece shimano Clarus rod. It's ok but not anything that impressive. It gets the job done. I have been looking at possibly getting a Daiwa cronos or shimano zodias from japan. They seem to have a lot more 2 piece options than here.
  23. I was just about to pick one of these rods up. Do they seem to run true to their rating or are they more of almost a medium power?
  24. I have 2 of the daiwa ardito travel rods that are great. Okuma also makes a Citrix 4 piece travel rod. I haven't tried the okuma but I know a few on here have.
  25. I use 10 lb yellow and 10 lb blue power pro on both of my spinning outfits.
