  1. I caught a couple of bass Friday with eggs in them. Tha s as late as I've seen in northern iL. Also so some 2 inch bass schooling around ??
  2. If it is cut out of the same blank then the 7 3 would have a little more whip / softer tip. Which in same brands I believe would be the case.
  3. Not yet. There are guys around here that will almost never cast anything else so I don't. They can be so 1 demensional it almost seems to complimentary to call them bass fisherman.
  4. Welcome from another northern IL guy.
  5. So you wandered into peoria. That's one way to enjoy Asian carp. I was impressed by the flip behind what looked to be a Jon boat
  6. Spinning with a braid and leader is popular. My. Choice as well.
  7. Really? Those are strong words for such a broad brush. how do you feel about prescription abuse/ pain killers anti depressants, or anyone else with the possibility of a dulled sense. How about slow reactions: older people, Individus with poor eyesight. If they are in a boat or an auto are they losers? I like this forum because people can express they're views. Opinions and experiences are different.
  8. Agree. Some days it just seems like they barely take the crank and if you don't play them you can lose them. Sometimes a different color or crank can help. I will dip my rod sometimes but I d o not want to deaden its action.
  9. You said you see them busting. Have a spook type bait or a jerk bait on to run through there and deep crank it when they disappear. They may not know when they are winning but they can probably figure out when they are losing LOL.
  10. Agree with above. On spinning gear braid will give you a long cast and you can feel your bait much better. A leader will give a less visible line and a little stretch.
  11. I would like to say square bill but it isn't versatile enough. So I will go with a green pumpkin swim jig and craw trailer.
  12. Does it giv you a weed line. If so you can crank or sw m a bait along it.
  13. I have a 12 lb grand slam which I no longer use. It dose not cast well. I use pline 10 lb cxx and it is. Good casting line. If you have trouble with backlashes you want to stay away from stiffer lines
  14. My old president just did that. I just needed to tighten a screw underneath the guide. Took it apart to get it better and clean it.
  15. Blue gill crappie and perch are the best. Small bass are good as well. If they are abundant and I need to fill out a fish fry I will eat them.
  16. Strike king 1.5 and 2.5. A darker/ red or brown color. A chartreuse and black and a gizzard shad.
  17. Hmm. My family just got a 12' Yak which can be used for fishing. I will be giving it a whirl. I agree with Kikstand, although maybe with that 6 6 stout rod he is just horsing them in and there is no need to be at the front of the Yak. He gets ahold of one of those 10+ pounders down in oroville he could run into that problem.
  18. Dink. Under 12 " Good. 1.75. Lbs Quality. 2.5 lbs Make my day a real good one. 4 plus. If I caught 5 fish for over 12 lbs I would consider that a good day here.
  19. Nice fish. I stand corrected I didn't speak favorably on your previous post
  20. meggabass vision 110 sk series 5 sk anaconda ribbon tail worm
  21. Welcome. Always good to see another northern illinois guy.
  22. I'm not familiar with a lamprey bite But why would a bite show through to the other side. What if an arrow barely pushed to the opposite side and left an infected wound where it pulled out ?
