  1. Idle hands are the devils workshop. Many hands make light work If your not doing business your going out of business An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Watch your pennies and your dollars will watch themselves Change is the only constant When you lye down with dogs you bring home fleas Give a man a fish and he will hunger not a day. Teach a man to fish and he will never hunger again.
  2. Jerkbait. Square bill. Series 3. T rigged sk anaconda. Swim jig. Polarized glasses are a must so you can see that edge and run along it. Of course if it is no wind bluebird I would go with a more subtle approach.
  3. Welcome to bass resource. And it is a big resource. Tom has made a nice offer. You should take him up on it
  4. I just purchased a livewe kit from cabelas. It was as good a deal as any. I haven't used it yet but I am confident it should do the job. Someone on this site had said to freeze a jug of ice to put in it. No insight on the cooler size you should use. There are some YouTubes you can pull up that are interesting.
  5. Are they coming up and throwing it or are they just pulling off.
  6. Your brothers are in my prayers.
  7. Skeet Reese deep crank Rod. I have the Rick Clunn rod by wright McGill. I believe they are very Similiar and the Clunn rod isn't made anymore. I am happy with its feel and performance
  8. Not a tourney fisherman. 5 best ever would be around 28 lbs.
  9. Nice work. I like the video.
  10. We all love catching a big bass, but I sometimes think if it is a fun fight and you are putting them back anyway, why not catch a large other species fish. A memorable catch for me was big asian carp. Good job getting him in.
  11. Palomar for most applications. Trilene when a palomar cant easily be tied and a double uni to connect lines
  12. Nice buy. The transom boards on the outside are a little different. If those tires aren't causing performance problems they may be useful to get to little ponds If you can get a boat where others can't it can be worth the effort. I have patched little holes with JB weld and it works great and last for years. Onward and upward
  13. Welcome Ashtyn. You can learn to out fish those bros on this forum.
  14. The right equipment makes it much easier and enjoyable. So does catching fish, that makes a lot of annoyances go away.
  15. Just out of curiosity I added the members that you can tell are for sure not floro users (12) , neutral (9) and big floro users (10). HMM
  16. The floro is a higher dollar and th company makes more that is reason enough. Braid is a high dollar too but it last a long time.
  17. I really don't pay much attention to balance. I do like a light set up. Balance has never been enough of an issue to make me want to add weight
  18. I have the trion and president. I believe the president is still made but probably $150. Pflueger makes other lines they may work. Tackle direct has a trion and bass pro has a lady's trion combo. $69. ?? Could be a great deal if it is the same trion and you are good with metallic baby blue. Just a thought.
  19. New2b4cbass gave some good info. Maybe I misread but a spinning rod and baitcaster aren't interchangeable. In Minnesota for larger fish a mh rod would work out well. A lot of forum guys like the berkley lifhtning shock rod and it is reasonable. For a reel you want to max out on a limited budget, it will greatly improve your success rate. A bass pro shops pro qualifier for $100 is a good choice. For both $150. Unless can save $30 when on sale. Line can make a big difference for a beginner. Trilene XL mono cast great. I use copolymer and recently purchases 15 lb McCoy mean green and it cast easy for a strong copoly
  20. Your going to get a lot of people who like the Curado. I would consider the Lews line. I have a bb1 and a tourney speed spool. I would also consider the Daiwa tatula. All good picks.
  21. Sorry to here that, they have been in my prayers.
  22. Pline CXX 10lb is a go to line for me on my baitcasters.
  23. There is a lot more than just catching fish to enjoy. Geese flying out of a fog bank and landing in front of you, different migrating water fowl stopping on your lake, deer swimming across a small area...... If you have someone who is close to you when that happens, it is even better. Early in the morning, every now in then you will get that cast into the son when the spray is glistening off of your reel and the wet line is glistening as it lies down. That sight may be as good as a 3 Lb bass.
  24. Do it all the time with a jon boat. I push it off and use a rope to pull it up to shore along the trailer. Then when I load it, I push it out and pull it onto the trailer. It is quick once you get your technique down. I have a longer rope on it, but I suppose I use about 20 - 25'. Just make sure the rope is hooked up when you push it off. I did that one cold morning and delayed my day.
  25. Is there a difference between the blue and white pins?? I have 2 blues set and I don't need much tension. I jhavent had my bb1 long. But I love the way it performs so far
