Transferring Boat From Another State
Are you buying from a dealer? If so they should be able to provide you the paperwork. I purchased a boat in Missouri and registered in illinois. The dealer gave me the proper paper work and the titles even though I financed it. I then just took it in to a place that does the registering. If that isn't an option just contact your registering body. Dmv and dnr here.

Making The Switch Back From Fluoro To Mono..
You can play it safe and not get back lashes or you can gradually push it and become a much better caster. I can cast any bad line 25 to 30 yards. But a good line I can cast 40 to 50 yards. If I want to launch into the wind ieven further. I have had bad backlashes learning but it has been worth it. I still get small backlashes but it is worth the extra time in the water If you watched the bassmaster hourly coverage you would now and thensee them pulling a backlash. My partner is the opposite of me he never pushes it and he never backlashes. A good cast for him is 25 yards but it fits his style. He is a patient line watcher. If it fits go for it but pick a cheaper line.

Where Are The Bass Right Now? See Map
They will be on the north to north east side of this point to the point in 6 to 8 ft. I would fish a series 5 or dt 10 if a crank doesn't work then a jig the same spot. If the sun was on the SE cove with no wind it is possible they could be shallow over there in dark water. Square bill or jig then.

Would It Be Dumb To Sign Up For A Tournament Without A Good Livewell?
Cabellas has a live well aerator kit that would most likely work for you. It is made to fit into a cooler but I'm sure it would work for your situation. Believe it is about 40 dol. you should fish the tourney. Good luck.

How Would You Catch These Bass?

Pleased To Met You
I just started posting on this forum without introducing myself as well. First off I would just like to compliment the forum. There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable, polite guys on this forum both young and old. It is very enlightening to read everyone's opinions. This is the first forum I have ever participated in but my teenage boys are amazed at the activity on this site. They say I am lucky to have such a participating group in something I am so passionate about. Now for me. I have fished all my life but I really didn't take up bass fishing until about 17 years ago and I have been seriously trying to up my game for the last 13. I just turned 50 so for much of that time I have been busy raising a family and finding time to fish hasn't always been easy, but as my fatherly duties decrease my bass fishing time increases. There is nothing like time on the water, but I have spent many hours over the years improving my game by reading this site and others as well as watching shows, it just gets engrained in you after awhile. My home waters are the IL river and ponds in the area. Fortunately or unfortunately I am not a sauger fisherman as far as the IL river is concerned. My family and I enjoy boating and we do vacation on large lakes in the midwest, so I do get to enjoy those waters and it is great. I love not only the sport of bass fishing, but the science of bass fishing. It is challenging. My favorite type of fishing is cranking on windy days.

Trolling Motor Help
Agree, I wouldnt throw in the towel on that trolling motor yet. A good battery can make alot of difference, and make sure your connections are good. Also take off the prop and see if it is all jammed up with line or who knows what.

What Type Of Line Should I Use For Backing
pretty much the same for me, about half way. If you try to go to far with your backing your joining knot ( double uni for me ) will occasionally catch the line above it and stop or slow your cast. When I thread that joint on, I always push it to a side that way even if you are down there it will most likely not effect a cast. You can save some expense with backing and not be as hesitant just to switch your line out.

Missing Out On Something Sticking With Plastics Only?
I have been taking bass fishing more serious for the last 15 years and the first 6 I mainly fished plastics. Then I decided I was going to get good with cranks and I spent most of that year fishing them and as of the last 6, I consider myself to be better than average at cranking. In the right conditions, you can do very well, but if the don't favor it you can die with a crankbait. As of the last 4 years I have gotten much better at calling it quits with the crank and going to jigs and soft baits. You have to make yourself get out of your comfort zone and if you keep doing it you, you will be rewarded.

Using Braid For Everything?
I like braid with a leader on my spinning gear, but not on my baitcasters. I have trouble with long cast with braid, occasionally it just stops because it is on top of itself. I used a power pro 40 lb and still had that issue.

Rod Size
I get it you are looking for a 2nd set up. I believe I have your duckett rod It has a real whippy tip. Correct?? I love it for med depth cranks and light baits. For a 2nd set up you need something to set large single hooks. I just purchased a duckett 7'3" mh for just that. I put a Lews bb1 7:3:1 on it and it is a great pitching multi purpose set up. I did put a lefty reel on it. I am starting to like them better not only for pitching but cranking.

Johnson Silver Minnow
A few weeks ago FLW had an article on a guy who successfully fishes spoons all the time. Including the johnsons spoon. I can believe it. I recently purchased one.
