Left Handed Retrieve To Right Handed

Left Handed Retrieve To Right Handed
I recently made the switch from left-handed retrieve to right-handed and its not going so well haha I've always used left-handed because it felt more natural and because of a wrist injury that made it somewhat painful to control the rod with my left hand. The transition isnt going as smoothly as projected. Any suggestions or tips?

Where Are The Females?
from my experience this past weekend, like everyone else is mentioning, they are deep. caught 2 big females this weekend in about 10-15 feet of water. one on a jig, the other on a shaky head

Need Some Advice
Im finally getting out on the water tomorrow in a boat and according to the weather it should be an awesome day down here in MD. high 70's with some cloud cover all day. my plan is to flip and pitch most of the day (my strongest fishing style and i think its just flat out fun) but im not sure what rod I should use. The jig sizes i'll be using are 1/4 to 3/8. The only two casting rods I have with me right now are a: Shimano 6'6'' medium fast and an Abu 7'0'' medium heavy. I like the shimano because of the greater sensitivity but it lacks backbone which leads to weak/missing hooksets sometimes, especially at distance. The Abu obviously has plenty of backbone but lacks sensitivity plus the guide insert in the top eye is missing and it scares me that it'll fray and break my line if i hook into a pig. If you were me, what would you do? Thanks

Increasing Time On The Water
you're still plenty young enough I wouldnt worry too much about it especially with summer break right around the corner. if fishing is something you truly love, you'll find the time. And even if you cant make more time to fish, just enjoy the time you do get to spend fishing. I just graduated college and landed a full time job working almost 60 hrs a week. I thank my lucky stars every time i get even an hour to make a few casts

Ever Take Your Dog Fishing?
never taken my yellow lab on a boat but i assume she would love the cool breeze blowing off the water and would be perfectly content just sun bathing on the deck but i quickly learned my lesson about taking her with me when im on foot...no matter how much i cuss and scream, she wont stay out of the water lol

Tips For Catching Big Bedding Females
There's a local pond I frequently fish along with every other fisherman plus their mothers. In other words it is highly, highly pressured. The only reason I go is because of Big Momma. She's somewhat of a local legend around these parts. She's every bit of 8lbs and then some. To my knowledge, she has only been caught once in the last 5 or so years and I would like to add my name to the short but prestigious list of people to out-wit her. She is already on her bed and I have thrown every type of creature bait, in every color possible, and every shape and size. Does anyone know of or have any tips or tricks that I may have overlooked? Techniques? Just trying to rack my brain for something different to try. Any and all suggestions are welcomed and greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Confidence Fishing
So for the last few weeks I have been exclusively fishing smaller ponds/reservoirs around my school (in the mountains of western MD) because well that's pretty much all I can do without owning a boat or kayak or having to drive hours away. I like to think that even though i have not been catching quality fish the quantity of fish i'm catching is really developing my skills. i've been keeping somewhat of a mental note and im somewhere around 50+ fish in the last two and a half odd weeks, but only fishing 3 times a week at most which i think is pretty d**n good. I've been challenging myself to use lures and or different styles that i normally do not use as i would like to become a more well-rounded bass fisher. My fishing confidence is at an all time high and just in time for the semester to be over where i'll be back home where I live less than 20 minutes from two of the best mid atlantic fisheries, that also happen to be two of Roland Martins favorites as well. I know that all the bass i've been catching are all buck males so its not all that impressive but i hope that all this practice and time i've spent perfecting techniques will pay off and help me land a real lunker and a new pb bass this year. I have only been fishing "seriously" for about 3 years now and all i can say is that i am truly addicted to the sport and truly look forward to fishing for the rest of my life. Thanks for reading, Peace. Alex
