  1. Megabass on TW. Lots of nice colors. This is going to be a wild goose chase. LOL..
  2. If I wanted to keep my cost per fish down. I'd have a row boat, zebco 202 combo, cheap mono and a box of worms. But I wouldn't get much enjoyment from that.
  3. Pflueger trion combo. $50. To $60 dol. 6'6 rod. When I got serious about bass fishing 16 years ago that was my first good set up and I still use it today. An upgrade to a 10 lb braid with a mono leader made it even more versitle.
  4. 10" strike king anaconda T rigged 3/8 to 1/2 oz. swim it along.
  5. X2 If visibility is your concern, tie something on and give it a try. It is easy to change a leader to something else. I like the double uni.
  6. I have used a double uni for braid to floro or mono for years and they can last many trips. I am more concerned about the knot on the bait, it takes more of a beating. I retie when the leader gets short or for some reason I am concerned about it. Maybe I had to pull hard to get unsnaged.......
  7. Reaction baits. I fish the windy bank with cranks and jerk baits. My goto when that doesn't work is a T rig anaconda swimming. I like to cross cast the wind. boat control can be tough but the wind and waves are covering up your noise. The wind is your friend.
  8. I voted for cxx but I recently spooled on mccoy 15 lb and I like it so far. I could have a new favorite by the end of the season.
  9. Line is very important when you first start casting. Berkley xl cast easy. 10 to 14 lb. I don't use it anymore but it t is reasonable and cast great.
  10. Performance. Value then looks last. Quality equipment always looks good to me no matter the color or match.
  11. It could just use a good servicing. Sea foam could help clean it up. Make sure you are using a ethanol free gas
  12. If you need to cut through the weed cover use braid. Otherwise whichever you prefer to use.
  13. Lots of good advice. Set up as above a 66 m spinning reel should cast most anything plenty far. Make sure your Line is spoiled to about 1/8 in to the top.
  14. I throw square bills on a 7'mh glass rod and smaller squares on a 7' duckett m micro magic. Both with 10 lb pline cxx. I can fell the bait well on both. a braid does make everything easier to feel if you are haveing trouble
  15. I kno it isn't usual but I like to use a faster tipped 6'6 spinning reel with 10 lb braid. Sometimes a mono leader.
  16. Walmart strIke king work well for me. I have been wondering if the expensive brands would be worth it?? Sounds like maybe not.
  17. I was on a houseboat in aug 2011. It was hot and dry and I got skunked for the week. Embarrassing. I was there in June 2013 and did ok. Can't help you but I know that lake can be tough at times if you don't know it. I do love bull shoals the lake and water are amazing
  18. Get a whippy 7 ft rod. It will give you a long cast and then give you the play to fight with a light line. I use 4 lb pline cxx I can't believe how far a light lline can cast. The wind can put it into the trees fast if you aren't careful as well. Be careful where you put that $20 bait if you snag it can get expensive on light line.
  19. I muscle my cast and that seems to be a prob with braid under 50 lb. if I ease up I have a lot less probs and can get some nice cast. Unless pitching I would rather not have braid on my baitcasters. I do like braid on spinning gear. Braid is great for cutting through vegetation.
  20. 10 lb braid 8 lb stren magnifying leader double uni Love the braid sensitivity.
  21. That lightning rod will sing with the braid. My boy has it on his and it can be noisy with that guide. Another thread was talking about it being loud on a ghost rod. But I do prefer braid on spinn gear
