  1. I know it is a copolymer but I go with pline cxx 10 lb on my baitcasters. Once it is wet it handles well and it has great abrasion and durability.
  2. Agree. My experience was a few years back with 8 lb on a spinning rod. The summer heat was tough on it and with a quick pull it would easily snap. For a low price stren floro is better
  3. I am not familiar with the Powell rod Walmart has a jimmy Houston rod for under $50. It has a good feel for the price.
  4. Looks great. Where is the trolling motor.
  5. I use it all year in the morn and eve when the water is over 50. I have had my best success during the summer paralleling as close to the bank as I can get it
  6. i have 2 of these which I got from a former bassmaster Larry Lazoen. Both patterned like yours fire tiger orange and fire tiger chartreuse. Larry said they were good. I havent fished with them much because I really dont want to lose them, They have a wide wobble and dig in. I would guess they would be good for working over deep brush.
  7. I've used many types of line and pline cxx is the best multi purpose line I have come across for baitcasters. very abrasive, great knot strength for a double uni or palomar. It can seem a little stiff when you first get on the water, but after getting it wet with shorter cast you can loosen it up and let it fly. 10 lb will handle most applications and you wont go broke using it.
  8. Great video: His flipping bends like a medium heavy rod, which will play the fish better once she is hooked. I like a medium action for smaller cranks with lighter hooks under 12' depth. You get a long cast a good hookup and with the play in the rod she is wore out by the time you handle her at the boat. A medium heavy on deeper larger hooked cranks will drive the hook better and you still get a good play.
