New Toon Owner Looking For Layout Ideas
Thank you so much for the info - I have the same cylinder pedestal. Maybe I'll hold off on mounting it till I figure out the whole layout. I'll be researching the sliding platform too - that would really change the feel. the trolling motor in the pic was part of the deal on CL but I have a 55lb one as well that just needs a battery. It is just so heavy I feel like it's too much combined with a battery - I'm about 185 or so. Maybe I'm just being naive about how much these can handle? I'd really appreciate pics sometime if its not a hassle for you.

I actually just picked up a 7" pedastal and have my eye on a seat with a swivel off CL. Mind if I ask how you set up the standing platform? Does the raised seat affect rowing at all? I'm playing with different pvc ideas for the fishfinder - ditched the trolling motor for now too.

I saw those rudders at cabelas bargain cave not too long ago and was tempted - Ive been using the paddles to steer and it feels pretty comfortable for now. What do you guys load up in the back? I don't think I'd be able to access much while on the water without a seat that spins I have a mk 55 lb tm I could mount in back but not sure I want to deal with the extra weight and massive battery. I am very happy I went this route over a yak though, just an awesome feel to fish from Dogmatic - Cup holders and a rod rack are on the list now, thank you for the pic - anything else you are glad you added?

New Toon Owner Looking For Layout Ideas
For anyone who is looking for ideas here is a few pics of the route I am going. I first tried bending 3/4 inch conduit to make a "U" that would slide into the footrest mounts, the fit wasn't as snug as I wanted so ended up going with wood and it looks horrible but looks pretty ugly haha! pulled out two bass Saturday morning and really glad I discovered these inflatables! Plain First test Tightened things up Video of first layout - after swapping zip ties for U bolts I don't need to keep my feet up! http://vid1156.photobucket.com/albums/p575/HappyCamper7474/20150613_150052_zpsfimv0hs3.mp4

I figured I'd have to fab something up too - I was thinking in front of the seat. The tm is so small and lightweight compared to my 55, and I was thinking for putting around ponds it would come in handy... maybe a day on the water with paddles will spark some ideas. That seat looks like a nice upgrade:) Thanks for the advice Scott!

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Hello! I'm new to and loving the wealth of info on this forum. Anybody using inflatable toons in the area? We just moved from Dekalb County to northern cook/southern lake county and always looking for new folks to fish with. Weather is rainy today but I'll be bouncing around the local spots this week after work and this weekend. Beck Lake is closest to me and I am thinking this will be my first spot unless you all have better ideas. Looking forward to sharing some success stories:)

New Toon Owner Looking For Layout Ideas
I have been using the search function and may be doing something wrong... After quite a long search I found a deal that was perfect for my needs, picked it up yesterday with a few extras the prev owner threw in. Only problem was he had to run to work so his wife gave me a quick 101 on breakdown and set up. Question - he threw in a sevylor 12v motor/batt/charger along with a humminbird piranha max220. Toon is a Creek Co 816 that looks like it was just pulled from the shelf. His wife was not sure how he mounted it - I reached out to him this morning and he said he never mounted the motor but was planning on it. If any folks know of a similar thread I would greatly appreciate the link. I am obviously open to any ideas/mods that come to mind. Thank you!

New Member In Northern Il
Hello! I just wanted to introduce myself, been fishing for most of my 34 years and always had that passion for bass:) I recently moved to the northern suburbs of Chicago and am looking forward to exploring the new to me waters in the area. Most of my fishing knowledge is still from multiple nights spent reading bass fishing books over and over as a youth haha! I found this site when looking for advice on the capability/practicality of a portable toon and was waiting to join till I found one:) Looking forward to sharing and learning on the forum and am excited to get to know you, PJ -disclaimer, I only belong to one other forum related to rc cars/trucks, so I am expecting a short learning curve haha Enjoy your Sunday and feel free to be in touch if you are in the Glenview/Des Plaines areas!
