Took Out A Dolphin(Mahimahi, Not Flipper) On My Bass Rod!
Went out w some family and my best friend on The Thomas Flyer out of Bayside Marketplace in Miami Monday morning and heard the dolphin were thick and growing up offshore fishing but recently getting into bass fishing I had a goal to catch a dolphin on my bass rod. Well, it was a success. So with an Abu Garcia baitcaster w 12lb mono on my 7' StCroix bass rod and a nice 15 minute fight I landed this 4lb cow. We ended up catching 60 Mahi with the biggest coming in at 23lbs and tagging/releasing 20+/-. We had a great time and Jimbo and Rick are stand up guys.

137Th And Tamiami Trail Today, Dead.
First time out there after hearing about all the peas it produces and nothing. No even a hit. I was done early and was throwing my go-to 5" Watermellon Fluke and I didn't catch anything but a few honks and thumbs up.

Stopped By My New Spot, 3.5Lbs Later...
Thanks, it's the dead end of a canal feeding from both the Everglades and the Intercoastal waterways. Caught Bass, Cichlids and a tiny Pea and seen Gar, Reffish and a tarpon in the same day... It's my go to spot.

Ok, thanks for the advice. How should they be held? Always seen pics of Bass being held like I was above so figured it was the right way.

Good Size Mayan Cichlid.
Caught this out in SW Ranches the other day. For reference, that's a 6" Fluke in its mouth...

Redfish On Plastics?...
I'm new to the Bass fishing world and have found a few spots that hold nice size Bass and are also holding really nice redfish. I'm fishing w plastic worms, frogs, plugs and flukes and these redfish will pay me no attention! I usually stop and fish while driving around at work(Fire inspector) so I don't have the luxury of having much more and no live bait.. Any help would be appreciated.

Found this spot out in S.W. Ranches and have Pulling out 1-3.5lb(My largest) Bass. Most were taken from the bank on 4.5" Watermellon/Black Flake weighted Flukes.

New Here, Here's My Biggest. 3.5Lbs
Just recently got into the Bass fishing world. Coming from an offshore(Mahi, Sails and Snapper) background I found myself spotting bass all the time while driving around at work(Inspector) so I I was lucky enough to have had the previous home owners leave me two St.Croix rods and I grabbed an Abu Garcia Reel and threw the setup in the bed of my truck and have been having some pretty good action. Anyways, here's my largest yet, it weighed in at 3.52lbs and I was fishing w a Watermellon/Black flake 4.5" Fluke.
