Welcome to canal fishing in Miami. Sometimes canals produce, and sometimes they can be void of life. If you don't see baitfish around keep moving until you find signs of life. You may have to cover a lot of ground to find this. 

Next time try a pearl white zoom fluke and a white x rap.

Look for more shallow areas, with life, the peas and largemouth are bedding over in the southwest FL area I am. Big largemouth come right out of the weeds/out of nowhere. Hit em up with the pearl white fluke and some Zoom Bait UV Speed Worms, dark colors.
