How can anyone resist keeping the crappies? They beg to be ate.

If the dreaded no wind time is in effect early and they have the damshut down (no current).....we have had a lot of luck with the red fins this year. Early with calm water. Sometimes they will hit it two or three times before they take it though.

1. I fish southwest Missouri, mostly (Tablerock) 2. Some days I will catch only two or three fish, other days I catchover fifty - somedays I am looking for new water, some days I am taking the kids and I don't care about size, some days just aren't my day! 3. LMB aren't the only fish we area after,when we catch one of them, they tend to be bigger. Kentucks and small mouth are a more frequent visitor to my hook, but tend to run a bit smaller. I would guess the average LMB is around three or four pounds 4. Same disclaimer as above, average LMB tends tobe more in the 20" range 5. Heaviest LMB is 5.5 pounds. I keep logs on bass caught, but don't break it down to LMB, Kentucks, smallmouth or any other. Do most of you break your logs down that far? I log water temp, air temp,wind speed and direction, location caught, line, rod , and tackle.

Welcome to the board. There is a lot of information on here. I have been here for over a year. I don't think I have posted more than ten times, because I always seem to find an answer to my question. Great site, great folks!

On Table Rock we use drop shot a lot for suspended bass. If they are not hitting the drop shot we use a spoon to fire then up a little and then go back to the drop shot. I don't know why they don't hit the spoon, but they will chase it. Then they hit the drop shot. The fish confuse me most of the time.

I love fishing in the rain on Table Rock. It drives all of the pleasure boaters off of the lake. All I see when it rains is fishermen.

I use guides on my on lake, Table Rock, to learn different techniques. It saves me a lot of time and money. Dropshotting would be an example.
