OKC Fishing
Anybody fish in the Oklahoma City area? I am trying to find a few new locations. As I don't have a boat, I am looking for smaller bodies of water that are bank-fishing friendly.

What is your favorite Led Zeppelin song?
1. Kashmir, of course. 2. Hey, Hey What Can I Do 3. Last, but not least, Bring It On Home. You gotta love Page's Delta riff and Plant's harp.

Former Sweet Spot
Carrington - I'll try that next time I go out and report back. Thanks!! It may be a while since we are about to have a blizzard here. Bill - It is totally private, and no river feeds into it. I am in the great Sooner State.

Former Sweet Spot
The water has always been a reddish mud color. It still is murky, but, as I said, more dirty emerald now. I cannot explain the change in water color. Others fished it before I did. There are about twenty five houses on the lake, and no outsiders fish it, to my knowledge. Therefore, not highly pressured. I certainly don't keep any of the fish I catch, nor do the residents who I talk to. I COULD get a jon boat on the lake, if I wanted to steal from one of the residents. I shall try going finnesse, but the poor visibility concerns me. Maybe adding some beads to the soft plastics would work....

Former Sweet Spot
This has been bugging me for a long time, so I finally decided to ask about it. When I first started bass fishing about five or six years ago, I began fishing a 2 acre neighborhood lake (I had some very gracious neighbors). I was a complete newbie, and was using my grandfather's old tackle. Typical gear from the eighties. ;D Even with little experience, I would catch fish left and right from the spawn to the start of winter. These were great times. I started learning new techniques with new tackle, and, during the early summer, would catch several five pounders every outing. I would be out there three times a week. It was a fisherman's paradise. Nothing could prevent me from catching fish, not even the constantly muddy, shallow water. Fast forward to the present day. Now, the fishing is nonexistent. The action began slowing down about two years ago, and now, I catch nothing. If I catch anything at all, it might be two dinks at the most. The water has cleared up quite a bit, but it has a slightly emerald tint, and a lot of debris seems to have gathered up in certain areas. The lake I knew six years ago no longer exists. Any thoughts on why this would be? :-/

The ending of Gladiator. Hands down.

Deep or Shallow?
In a pond I fish, there is no structure out in the middle of the pond, and it is only about 6-8 ft. deep, and very muddy. In the heat of the summer, would the bass be located in the deep water, or in the warm, shallow water with structure? This question has been bugging me for some time, and I would appreciate some opinions. Topwater_Popper

Winter Fishing Help Needed - How Would You Handle This Area? (PICS)
Big colorado-blade spinnerbaits. I fish a cold, shallow, muddy pond during the winter, and spinnerbaits are the most productive.

Muddy Water and Split Shot Rig
I was reading the article about split shot rigs on the homepage and decided to try it out. One of the "lakes" (man-made neighborhood body of water and to big to be called a pond) I am going to try it out on is always muddy, usually around 4 inches of clarity. I am hesitant, though, because the temperature has been very cold recently, and I am not for sure if the bass can see the small worm. One of my fishing buddies told be to put a small plastic container filled with beads in the worm so the bass would feel the vibrations. Do you think this would work? Thanks for the help. Beginning Tournaments
It's been a while since I have been on the forum, but it is good to be back. I was thinking of fishing in tournaments. I enjoy competition, so it would be right up my alley. I have researched a few tournaments, but I can not decide what to do. Does anybody know of some good amateur tournament trails? BTW, I would be fishing as a junior non-boater. Thanks for the help!

Fishing Guides: Good or Bad?
How many of you think that fishing guides are a good thing and would use one if you went to a out-of-town trophy bass lake and did not own a boat? Some fishermen I have talked to looked down on guides, but, personally, I think they are a good thing.

Where Should I Go?
I am asking this question in this part of the forum because I am interested in other fish besides bass. Anyway, I am in Pensacola, Florida, and was wondering where I could try a little fly fishing. I have a seven weight rod, and don't really care if the fish come from saltwater or freshwater. The trip is not to fish, so the the fishing is extra. I probably won't catch anything, but it is cool to fish for other species once in a while. ;D Thanks for the help! Topwater_Popper

Cold, Mud, and Structure
The lake (or large pond) I fish is a little weird, I will admit. It is a little neighbour hood lake and gets little to no pressure. It is muddy, visibility being about three inches, and SHALLOW. When I say shallow, I mean the deepest part of the lake being six to seven feet. There are docks all over, but they sit in water of about a foot. Besides these docks, the only form of structure is a few places of fallen bricks. Sadly, there are no weeds in the lake, but the bottom is made of mud, with a few gravel banks. The food source of this lake is gizzard shad. I don't know if there is a single bluegill in the lake. Although most of the fish are in the one to two pound range, I usually catch many five to six pounders in the season. Having said all this, I haven't caught a fish all winter here. It is awesome in the spring, summer, and fall, but not the winter. The air temperature has been in the thirty's, and tomorrow will be in the fifty's. What lure should I use? Thanks for the help.

Biggest bass
6.5 pound largemouth caught on a Johnson beetle spin. ;D I did not have a scale, but measured it and the on-line scale said 6.5.

Bown Trout?
Also, the red spots on browns are not on every single fish. The spots are not a German Brown requirement.
