  1. finally have some poles on deck! taking it out for the first time tomorrow morning
  2. #1 ended up being a faulty tilt trim motor(ran direct jumper wire with clean power to it) #2 had my hydrawave and humminbird wired into the tilt trim switch at the bow using the red and blue (rookie mistake) (temporary until complete overhaul of carpet....etc this winter) #3 no idea on the horn its a new boat and works when it wants to thank you guys for helping out.greatly appreciated
  3. messed with it for a few hours tonight.cleaning, checking connections etc..... eliminated the whole harness with a jumper to my Humminbird and hydrawave.both worked great isolated i will be back at it again tomorrow thanks guys for your help its much appreciated
  4. 100%...well as clean as I could get them with a wire brush and sand paper first thing I did when installing the new batteries I am stumped on this one
  5. just picked up a 1998 skeeter 17.5 all weld with a 40 hp yamaha and having a heck of a time figuring out this electric issue Yesterday went through everything getting it ready for the first fish trip and everything was in working order Upon doing one last once over I realized my on board charger only had the red light on wich usually has both green and red. Also was very dim So i went to the tilt trim switches both bow and shifter. As I push up or down it moves but very slow like its drawing very little power next went to the horn....same thing super low screeching honk And then finally my Humminbird 859.Will turn on then right back off Both batteries are fully charged checked with a fluke meter several times I checked every fuse the boat has on it there all good I even went as far as eliminating everything electrical and reconnected it one at a time.Same as before. Each device would perform poorly The batteries both cranking and trolling are brand new one month old and have been used in my other boat and worked just fine any thoughts on what to check before i pull my hair out?? PS:The starter cranks the motor normal but that's it
  6. just bought this 1998 17.5 skeeter today
  7. second coat of well mixed D2T did the trick
  8. well its been over 24 hours and my devcon 30 minute epoxy clear coat is still tacky kinda nervous
  9. this is kinda tuff to search for.so many books come up but I figured someone here would know.I have found patterns I like on the internet but would be nice to have a book at hand while painting so if you just started in painting hardbaits what would be your book of choice at your side?
  10. Thanks for the kind words! yes first bait paint and first time airbrushing was the base coat pictured above.I think I am going to enjoy this just as much as in the boat!! I bought the Iwata a couple months ago and I would open the box then close it! until last night..no practice shoots of any kind.Loaded paint and went with it !!
  11. thanks Bruce 424! just went down to Bass Pro and picked some up! added some over reduced orange to the belly and clear coated with Devcon 2 ton 30 minute
  12. So having never touched an airbrush in my life I decided to work up the nerve to put some paint in my new Iwata HP-CS and give it a go! put in some pearl white reduced and starting spraying the bait.never even practiced with paper just starting shooting for the first time on the bait found quickly that i should have used opaque white to start so i then shot over the pearl with that moved on to some yellow, then lime green, moss green and finally reduced black over the lufa (scale pattern) finished with some light black sponge dabs of black on middle portion of the body still might add some red around the gills not sure yet is there anywhere locally you can find stick on eyes? i would love to get this clear coated and see how it looks! I must say I am hooked on lure painting!
  13. thanks! will do BASSPATROL247
