  1. I know the industry standard is a 6'6"-7' MH-F rod, but for me, I fish out of a canoe or wading smaller creeks and I don't like to store a long rod and can't often use one on these waters. For me, 5'6" is just about right, but I don't want a pistol grip. I'd love to find a company making these rods for around one hundred bucks, but it seems the shorter sticks have fallen out of favor with bass anglers. Any advice?
  2. Just picked up a Zip N Ziggy and a spool of PP 15/4.
  3. When I'm tossing worms, give me a Zoom Finesse worm rigged weightless. Craws are my favorite plastic bait and if im not on a watershed that I can look for 100 fish days, the Yum Craw Papi is tough to beat, but for a more durable bait, the Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw and hopefully the ZMan Turbo CrawZ will work out. I don't toss tubes, but I like Kalin's grubs.
  4. If the wife hadn't had surgery yesterday, I'd be running to the outlet at Clinton for some wade fishing. For now though, I'm going to change line on a reel, reorganize the boxes and have a few beers.
  5. I can relate, too long without a good craft beer and I go nuts. Spring Creek is a small, silt-ridden mess. With that said, I did catch a few there last spring on an MB X-80 TD and lipless cranks. Despite what the shocking reports say, the lake doesn't fish like it should. They shock 5 pound bass each year, along with good numbers, yet the fishing is always mediocre. I was fishing it from my old canoe which I sold for various reasons. I'd love to hit it and DG County from a kayak though. If I recall, you post on Ozark Anglers, right?
  6. You're not far from me. I appreciate the warm welcome fellas!
  7. I haven't fished LaCygne or most of the other lakes in the area. I fish moving water preferably, but will fish one of my local lakes, Spring Creek Lake or Douglas County if I need a quick fix since I am shore bound for the time being.
  8. Hey all, I've been lurking now for the last day and like what I see. I figured I'd go ahead and register last night at work, so this is my introductory post. My name is Andy, I live in a small town south of Lawrence, KS and my favorite species of fish is the smallmouth bass. I love to float and wade fish creeks and rivers, but, being in Kansas, there are laws against that type of thing outside of parks and the three large rivers in the state. Thus, I spend a lot of time on the Missouri side of the line fishing in the Kansas City area as well as in the Ozarks. Any questions, feel free to ask.
