  1. Anybody fish Maxinkuckee early in the season , want to get after some small mouth and some bonus Walleye . Heard that place is loaded with them . Anybody confirm or deny that .
  2. Went to Palestine lake the other day , graphed literal clouds of fish in the deep holes , couldnt get them to bite anything . A Rigs - Jerkbaits , Swimbaits , Dropshots , Ned Rigs , Crappie tubes . Water temp was 46-49 and stained. Finally got a few on traps in the shallow weeds . Rough day . Anybody still whacking them on the fall bite.
  3. Went on our yearly trip to Minnesota , hooked into a 7lb giant , broke the lake record by 2 lbs . Local guy at the tackle shop said it was the biggest bass he has seen in 30 years . The lake we are fishing is the home of the state smallmouth record . People up here don’t fish for the green carp lol . They don’t know what they are missing ! Fish bit a bubba shot with a Texas fogged 10 inch brown worm . Released to make some more beautiful northern monster bass !
  4. Anybody ever fish Wawasee for smallmouth , I have heard they they are in there but have never seen many people going after them .
  5. Anybody ever notice a difference between catch rates of jerkbaits with feathered trebles and jerkbaits without feathered trebles .
  6. Anybody got open water yet , major cabin fever up here in Northern Indiana
  7. Anybody on here do much Ice fishing . I am stir crazy already since the boat got stored for the winter.
  8. Got a few nice ones today in a small lake back home in southern Indiana . Was looking forward to the jerkbait bite as the water there is usually gin clear but as usual get to the lake and it is stained like you wouldn’t believe . Managed a few on traps and broke off a monster on a jig but all in all it was a pretty good day .
  9. You shouldn't be to far from Indian and Celina lakes then, both are great fisheries !
  10. Have you ever fished Bluegrass FWA , supposed to be a big bass factory
  11. Water temps are in the low 40's up north . Air temps are in the 20's in the morning . Enjoy it while it lasts fellas . I would think ice season will be upon us before we know it .
  12. Got on a great spinner bait bite this weekend , it was nice to mix it up and fish some ponds .
  13. Braved the 40 MPH gusts yesterday , Caught some nice ones on a weightless trick worm in the back of protected pockets. Would have loved to fish the windy banks but 4ft waves are no ones friend.
  14. Bass bite has been poor up in the northern part of the state too. Only way i can get a bite is to deadstick a senko on the edge of the pencil reeds and leave it there as long as I can stand it. Wont hit anything moving , nothing going on offshore either . Edges of the reed beds is the only place I can get bit. Weird for this time of year.
  15. Got out on Lake Tippecanoe on sunday evening. Fished Deep , fished shallow , fished docks , pads , grass edges , caught zero .... Finesse , power , nothing. Anybody have any luck in the northern part of the state lately.
  16. They were killing those fish on tubes and dropshots. When that shut down they would throw the spybait and get followers so they could sight cast to them with a dropshot . It looked like a great 1-2 combination for sure. I was also surprised how much cranking they were doing up there. St. Clair is a hawg factory for sure.
  17. Have you had any success in cold water with this bait , or is it primarily used to get suspended fish in a neutral mood to trigger a reaction bite. I plan on using it in clear water for suspending fish, but I wondered if it would sub for the jerk bait in cold water situations possibly.
  18. Any of you guys fish a Spybait . I was up at the Elite Series Event at St. Clair this weekend and all of the Pros had one tied on. Thoughts ....
  19. Heavy cover , pads and slop . Flipping and pitching with Texas rigged baits and frogging . Don't be shy with your setups , above average fish here, big sacks are common. With all the rain the water will be high , fish will be buried in the deep stuff. There are to deep holes in the lake where they school, early in the day , think zoom fluke in pearl, or a Zara spook. Had a buddy have a 25 lb bag in 5 casts the other day on the hole in end south end of the lake on the edge of the deep hole . When the sun gets high , find the matted grass , they don't the old on the pads for some reason very much .
  20. I have heard from multiple sources that silver buddy blade baits work really well at H -Town, have never fished it . But is deep and clear , jerkbaits , swimbaits , crankbaits on the windy side should put you on some smallmouth.
  21. Amen to that lol . Got to protect the juice !!! I fish Webster a lot , it does have some big fish for sure , one of the Muskie guys will probably catch one that breaks it , and toss it back cause it's a green carp .
  22. Way to think positive , don't they have a strain of bass that are a cross between northern strain and Florida strain , I think they call them tiger strain bass . I beliege that it is possible , I have seen 2 fish in person that went over 11lbs caught and weighed out of a lake in southern Indiana close to the area of the current record. Both of those fish were released so it could happen . I have to believe that a 15lb big girl is swimming around somewhere in his state , eventually someone will cross paths with her.
  23. Got into a debate today with a friend , thought I would post it on here and see what you guys think . Where is the next state record largemouth bass most likely to be caught .
  24. Caught a few nice bass yesterday pictured , about 15 total on Webster lake . Bass were caught on Texas rigged craws in 18 fow and spinnerbaits in the shallow weeds . I also managed to catch my 1st ever Muskie yesterday , it was on 24 inches long but it was still really cool , about 30 minutes latter I caught another 20 inch Muskie . 2 in one day is pretty cool even if they were small ones !
  25. Is it ever going to stop raining........
