  1. Hello everyone, my club is looking for members to join our club!! They're called Pachaug Area Bassmasters. We have meetings every first Monday of every month, and we have 15 tournaments throughout the year. They usually start early April and end in September! If anyone is interested.. Please PM me or you can call a guy by the name of Dave Gilbert, his number is (860) 428-7130.! Let him know I sent you, my name is Zach Nute!!
  2. Fishing is really starting to pick up. Water temps for the most part are in the mid to upper 50's and the bass are really firing up! And of course tournament season has started up.. Anyone else live in eastern CT and have any luck? I've had great luck at Amos Lake and the Aspinook Pond!
  3. Every person I talk to... They see my fishing decals on my truck and they ask if I fish. I simply reply with "yes". Next questions is "do you eat them". My next answer is what throws people off, I simply reply with the answer of "I don't like the taste of fish"... People go nuts!!
  4. Honestly, Pre-Spawn fish (depending on water temps) will eat at any time of the day. Now most people say that they bite better during the mid-afternoon. I find this statement to be false. I catch fish all day long. I actually find that fish will slow down during the middle of the day, but when I do hook into one it will be a big one. If the water temps are mid 50's, the fish will be up and cruising the banks... once you hit that 60 mark the fish will be going crazy and feeding up for the spawn.. Make sure to always have a rattle trap, jig and chatterbait/spinnerbait tied on. I hope this helps you out!
  5. I would use a 3/8oz Chatterbait over a spinnerbait any day of the week, no matter the conditions. On the chatterbait I love putting the 4" Reins Fat Rockvibe Shad as a trailer..! Hope this helps you!!
  6. Stratos is one hell of a boat. I would take a test ride in one..!
  7. How big is the lake/pond? If its fairly large, like 7,000+ acres, I would graph the first day until lunch. Then I would fish the rest of the day and the next.
  8. IMA Skimmer by far.....! http://store.optimumbaits.com/p/ima-skimmer-isk153-blue-back-herring?pp=25
  9. Took the fairy across southern VT yesterday and it still had ice...!
  10. What's everyone's favorite lake/pond/river in New England? Other than Champlain... I may be taking 2 trips this year. One is to Champlain and I'm not sure where else I want to go.. I would love to hear peoples input. I will be fishing for smallmouth and largemouth bass.
  11. I've never used this unit before. But Lowrance is the way to go. I would purchase a RAM mount to mount your unit to and then I would buy a rail system and a Screw ball to put on the kayak. Because they make a RAM transducer arm that connects to the screwball which connects you to the rail. Which eliminates you having to glue the transducer to the bottom of your hull. I believe this is easier and more affective.
  12. You settled?!?!?!? Something in that price range should be something that you really want, not just settle on.
  13. Hey everyone, I have a quick question. I have a battery that is having a difficult time holding a charge (I have a onboard battery charger). This battery is to start my outboard but my Lowrance HDS 9 Touch is also hooked up to the same battery. I'm in the market for buying a new battery and was wondering what everyone's favorite battery is..!? Thanks! -Zach
  14. Hello everyone. This post is in regards to linking a Lowrance HDS 9 Gen 2 and a new Lowrance Elite 9 Chirp unit. I was wondering what exactly I needed. Any response is helpful. Thank you.
  15. Thank you everyone. I assumed that the throttle cable was the issue. I purchased the boat from a dealer and its still under warrantee. I was just posting on here to see if everyone's thoughts were the same as my own. Again, thank everyone for the responses.
  16. I honestly don't know. I can try to find out tomorrow for you.!
  17. Hello everyone. I recently purchased a 1995 Javelin 379T with a 1995 Johnson 150hp fast strike outboard motor (2 stroke). M concern is, that my boat is only a 17-1/2 ft boat and I cant get my boat past 35mph... When I read up on this boat with the same motor on the internet.. Everyone is saying that they're running 60+mph..... Also I can put the throttle down half way before I get any response from the motor. I would love to know what everyone thinks.... Thank you!
  18. Hey everyone! Next week is opening day for us CT guys and gals! With luck, we all have open water!!!! My question is, has anyone fished Pachaug Pond before? If so, does anyone have any tips for it? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!!!
  19. Every pond around me in eastern CT is open!!!!
  20. Well... If you're viewing this topic, its safe you assume you like chatterbaits. I mean, why else would you choose this forum to read? Anyways, this topic is truly about chatterbait lovers. My question is: What is everyone's favorite chatterbait and trailer?
  21. I looked at the Ranger RT 188.. Fell in love at first sight.. But when I took it for a test run, its really smooth, and spacious.. I would go with the Ranger.!
  22. Thank you everyone!!
