Thank you all. I really don't pour a lot, and I have to pour these one at a time, so I'd like to make this worth while without being unreasonable. There is a fairly substantial demand for these in my circle of aquaintances, so I think somewhere in the $.90-1.00 range is where I'm going to start, and then adjust accordingly.

In your opinion, what is a fair price to charge for an unpainted, 1/8 or 3/16 oz. round ball jig head with wire keeper and #2 Gamakatsu hook? Material cost per jig is around $0.45 (the hooks are pricey). For what it's worth, these are very difficult to find online.

Tournament of Champions? I’ll echo the others’ sentiments regarding the importance of time management. I’ve found that staying organized on a kayak where space is at a premium will help maximize fishing time. For example, spending the few extra seconds to hook your lure to the lure keeper or reel instead of letting in dangle off the front of your boat will almost certainly save you from spending time untangling lines or getting the lure free from a snagged tree (especially on Fork). A day or two of prefishing will go a very long way to ensuring you are making the most of your time on the water. However, always try to keep an open mind no matter what happens in practice- conditions can change quickly. A couple more things: Save yourself the inevitable heartbreak of losing a fish boatside and invest in a net if you don’t have one. Store it where it’s easily accessible with one hand. I’m not sure how much experience you have taking the pictures required for kayak tournaments, but this can be very difficult. It’s imperative you know the rules for the tournament and practice this some before game day. Every single tournament I fish I hear about a fish flopping off the board before the pic or deductions for an open mouth, etc. You got this.

Negative. The Elite pro I know gets an allowance of X dollars from Abu, which he can spend however he sees fit, but it's all off the shelf stuff, except for maybe the occasional prototype.

I'm thinking about picking up a Helix 7 SI for my kayak. Would the HDSI transducer increase image quality a great deal over the compact transducer? What kind of price are we talking? ~$300?

I've read other reviews that that report very poor knot strength for Gliss, even with the recommended knots. The 18lb line, in particular, was breaking around 8.5 lbs at most. I would love to see someone else repeat the strength tests.

FLW pro, John Cox fished this year without a transducer (I'm assuming he still used GPS) and finished 2nd in the AOY points.

I assume you're asking in regards to competing against guys in bass boats? There are too many variables in that scenario to even consider an answer. FLW pro, John Cox did pretty well this year in his aluminium boat with no depth finder.

The fish are likely in the same places, but are just very lethargic from the heat, especially in the middle of the day. You would likely get them to bite better very early, very late, or at night. It those times are options, your best bet would probably be to fish very slowly.

I’ve been wanting a GoPro for a while and I think I’m ready to pull the trigger. However, I’ve never used one and I’m not really sure which model I should pick up. I’ve read the comparisons on the site and I think I’ll choose between the Hero4 Silver and the 3+ Silver, but I’m hoping some experienced users can offer some advice. Maybe a model you feel is the best value, or reasons why I should opt for the Black model… I’ll be using it on my kayak, likely for over-the-shoulder footage. I also think 1080p will be sufficient for my purposes.
