  1. One lake I fished as a kid has vegitation problems to the point you can't launch by late June/early July.
  2. I have a 17' aluminum rig with a 60hp and an 8hp kicker, 2 batteries and 12 gallons of fuel, I get by fine with a 45lb minnkota edge.
  3. I differ from most, if it ain't broke, I ain't fixing it. My 72'(yes, a 43 year old impellor), 87', and 98' are all original. As long as my water pressure gauge stays above 10, I'm not touching it.
  4. Not sure if its like the boat I have at work, but I have to use the tabs to either back the trailer up a steep grade or use the trailer dolly to move it around the shop, or else the brakes lock up.
  5. I'm the opposite on the impeller, my 72' was original, and my current 87' and 97' are original. Granted, I have a water pressure gauge on the big motor, but if it ain't broke, I ain't fixing it.
  6. My last boat was a 68' sears 11' 6" deep-v with a 6 hp Johnson and a bow mount minn kota that I could take anywhere, I'd guess boat/trailer/gear ran around 500 lbs. I bought one of those harbor freight boat trailers, put a set of timken berrings and decent tires on it. My dad still uses the setup.
  7. I had a 72' 6 hp Johnson with a piece of the skeg broken, no lower unit issues with it at all, not saying the one you're looking at doesn't, but it didn't affect mine at all, in fact, my dad still runs it.
  8. I caught a monster open umbrella on a timber tiger a few years ago...put up one good fight.
  9. I have some 2 piece rods from my smaller boat days, and I don't know if age got them or what, but I was pitching the top half in the water a few times a day, but I ended up epoxying them together.
  10. Where in central PA? I'm in Elk county.
  11. 18" of ice on my lake yet.
  12. Keeps me from going stir crazy in the winter, I currently load about 35 calibers.
  13. I stopped at one, prices are a little salty, but they have a nice selection of fishing items...The reloading section is pretty sad.
  14. Ours has limited availability...but reloading supplies are showing back up...yes, our wally world carries reloading equipment.

Hello all, Just thought I'd say hello...I'm not gonna lie, I target muskies first, but I love fishing for both largemouth and smallmouth. I run older equipment, I did a trailer up restoration on an 87', 17' smokercraft bass catcher, and an 87' Johnson 60 hp. I added a 8 hp Yamaha kicker for the limited hp lakes, and target lakes around Indiana county, pa, and the Allegheny river at Templeton, pa.
