Prop Size Question
I guess I will clarify, is there anyone with this motor that would have any advice on the best prop size and brand?

Prop Size Question
My fishing partner is looking into buying a new prop for his 96 Johnson Intruder 150. We aren't sure what pitch is on there now, but I believe we could move up a size. It planes out in no time and our top end isn't the best. What size would be best for more top end on this motor? Also, are there any recommended brands?

Hummingbird Helix 5 Compatibility
I am looking into getting a map card for my Hummingbird Helix 5. I have been searching on the internet to find what cards are compatible with my unit and I have found somewhat vague answers. I would assume that the Lakemaster cards would work since they are Hummingbird, but I dont want to haul off and get the version 3.0 and it not be supported. I have also heard that the Hummingbird maps are better than the Navionics, opinion of course, but opinions matter. So I guess my main question is what cards are supported and which ones are the best?

Tractor Battery For Electronics
Awesome guys. I appreciate it.

Tractor Battery For Electronics
I have been curious as to whether or not a tractor battery would run two smaller units. I have a Helix 5 and a small B&W Lowrance. They are fairly cheap and I didn't want to be sucking down all of my cranking battery while I am graphing or fishing. Just curious.

Crank Preferences
Thanks Bluebasser86, I did not know that. I have some 5xds but they just haven't quite produced like I would like them to. That is for me personally, but a great bait no doubt!

Crank Preferences
Awesome guys, I'll have to try some out. I really wish Xcalibur made more than just squarebills. If they do someone please let me know!

Crank Preferences
I was just wanting to see what you guys preferences or favorites are for crankbaits that dive in the 10-15 foot range. I have been searching for different baits in this depth range to throw around bridges and haven't quite found the one. Most, of course, don't necessarily dive to the listed depth unless you have the correct line and rod and all and make the modifications, I know that. I just wanted to see what you guys favorites are for that depth range and any modifications you make to help it produce. I know the Livingston Howeller is synonomous with bridges but I don't really feel like spending that much money on something that can get hung up so easily, although I'd love to buy them. I'm just curious to see you guys opinions.

Crankbait Hooks
I have always been skeptical about my discernment in changing and upgrading my treble hooks on my crankbaits. I know a lot of people have a lot of different preferences dealing with length of shank and size and all, but I was just wondering what those preferences are in relation to size of crankbait and bill and desired depth.

Running On Gville
I don't know if anyone has any idea about this, but I was wondering how long a run would be on Guntersville. Specifically a run from South Sauty Creek (about mid-lake) down to the Guntersville City Harbor. I wouldn't be running 60mph either, probably max 50mph with about average of 45mph. If anyone has an idea or estimate that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Don't Tell People About Your Fishing Spots.
My fishing partner and I always tell people if they ask where we caught the fish that "we caught them in the gravel pit." If they ask how, we say, "a few different techniques but mainly with a rod and reel." haha. I know it's kind of sarcastic but it always generates a chuckle or two.

I'm Addicted
Jigs are definitely a big bass bait. On average, you most likely won't get as many bites as you would with another technique, but if you're fishing them the right way in the right place the bites you do have will be normally bigger bites. I love jig fishing, moreso shallower than deep, although deep jig fishing with a football head is fun. I just prefer the shallower jig fishing with structure or swim jigs. Personal favorite are Santone jigs. They are really well made and look really good, not to mention the Mustad ultra point hooks are very sharp. I agree, that thud is something that will get your blood pumping for sure.
