Listening to music while fishing
I know a group of guys that are strictly big fish hunters. Throw nothing but huge swimbaits, glidebaits etc. Always music playing. It like a party on their boat. Probably helps with the boredom of fishing for days and weeks without a catch. But they catch more big fish than anyone I know.

Listening to music while fishing
Depends on the lake I'm at. Lot's of pleasure boats, jet skiers etc. Then music. Quite lake, no music.

Quagga at Silverwood, Perris and DVL
Silverwood, Perris and DVL are now considered infested. Most of the lakes I fish are considered infested. Going to be interesting to see how things go. I fish Puddingstone a lot which is not infested and they are rejecting tags from those lakes. http://abc7.com/news/tiny-mussels-could-create-big-problem-for-water-district-that-serves-parts-of-socal/1793345/ https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=140044&inline

Walmart prices and boat dealership prices
Minn Kota will drop a dealer if they sell under MSRP. And they find out from the required sales receipt when you send something in for warranty repairs. "In the case of a dealer pricing below our suggested levels (including e-commerce add to cart lower prices, the offering of effective discounts in the form of associated premiums, free goods, gift certificates, rebates or other vehicles), or if suggested retail prices are not listed individually within a combination package or bundle, Minn Kota reserves the right, at our discretion, to suspend product shipments covered by this pricing policy to that account." http://www.***/showthread.php?t=782118

HDS Gen 3 Transom Transducer
On a glass boat, I would glass in a 2D transducer and hang a LSS2 off the back. I have seen videos from Lowrance with TotalScan reading depth at 60 mph if your willing to play around.

HDS Gen 3 Transom Transducer
What kind of boat? I have a TotalScan and it is more difficult to get working (still working on it).

lowrance point 1
The Point-1 is no more accurate than the GPS sensor in the Gen 2 or 3 HDS. The main reason to use a Point-1 on a bass boat is for heading. This stops you maps from spinning when not moving when using heading up. It makes it much easier to stay on waypoints. Another benefit is being able to install it near the transom mounted transducer to give more accurate waypoints. You want the GPS sensor and the transducer to be at the same spot. There is no reason to install one at the bow because you already have a graph with its internal GPS right next to the transducer on the trolling motor. With a Point-1 on the transom, the bow graph uses its internal GPS and the heading from the Point-1. The console graph uses the GPS from the Point-1 as well as the heading from the Point-1.

Swim jig vs. Chatterbait
For me it's spinnerbaits in dirty water, chatterbaits in dingy water, swim jigs in clear water.

Xpress vs. Tracker ?
Xpress has the fastest, best built hull. Ranger and Crestliner are great, stable fishing platforms. I think Ranger, Lund and G3 have the best fit and finish. Trackers ride a little nicer and are a little faster than the Ranger and Crestliners. Lund make's a ton of different type hulls. If you really want a smooth dry, rough water boat, look at something like a Lund Pro V. IMO, no bass boat type hull is good in rough water compared to something with a deeper V. And Ranger also has a pad hull. The RP198.

Who's cooler???
I've seen Scott Martin be a dick a few times. I'm slowly coming back to him though watching his youtube channel. KVD always looks class to me. Coolest IMO is Greg Hackney.

Plano Elite vs. Plano Prolatch Stowaway
This. There isn't a plain jane 3700 Elite. I have both the ProLatchs for general use and a few Elites for the specific boxes such as spinnerbaits. The quality looks the same to me. Just different layouts.

Wow -- if this is true....
Why would you want it totally flat? I'm usually looking for a little wind.

Is it Possible.
The definition by CADFW, the only definition I care about since I'm in CA, is: " Invasive species are organisms (plants, animals, or microbes) that are not native to an environment, and once introduced, they establish, quickly reproduce and spread, and cause harm to the environment, economy, or human health" "Causing harm" is a critical distinction between invasive and non-native. https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Conservation/Invasives/About Here is a list of what CADFW considers invasive: https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Conservation/Invasives/Species Of course what is considered invasive can change.
-
Bass or Multispecies?
Largemouth bass the vast majority of the time. But will fish for just about anything at times. Particularly stripped bass, pan-fish or ocean.
-
Is it Possible.
Do you realize that the vast majority of lakes with bass in CA are man-made reservoirs? And that state fisheries biologist are the ones that stocked warm water fish into the reservoirs because cold water fish cannot survive? What fish should they have put in the reservoirs? About the only legitimate arguments regarding non-native bass is with the Delta and Clear Lake.
-
Is it Possible.
How can you have an invasive species that was intentionally (legally) stocked in a man made reservoir? Nothing was there before. There are no native species. Even if it was a stream that was damned up that had native trout, they would have died in the warm water lakes. By law, they have to stock warm water fish to maintain the biology of the lake. I don't think there were any native warm water fish in SoCal.

Best gps trolling motor and electronics
1. Neither. The built in transducer is traditional 2D only and there are adapters for most brands of sonars out there. I used the Xi5's built in transducer with a Garmin before I moved to Lowrance. 2. With a HDS Gen 2 you will need a LSS-1 or LSS-2 transducer to get down and side imaging. If you want 2D, you will also need a 83/200 for that. If you get a HDS Gen 3, you can use a Total Scan transducer which is 2D, down and side imaging all in one. I have one HDS Gen 3 on my boat for Total Scan. Also have to HDS Gen 2's 3. I assume you mean can you run down and side imaging at the same time? If so, yes you can. 4. Can't help you there. Maybe a slight preference at the console first if for no other reason other than knowing how deep you are running the boat in. 5. I only run down and side imaging at the console. I don't find it useful on the bow. I run only 2D on the bow.

Anyone Night Fish for Bass?
I use to night fish all year long. Probably my top 10 PBs were caught at night. And a good portion at night in the winter. Well, not sure most people would call SoCAL winters winter. Don't really fish at night now as I pretty much only fish out of my boat and all lakes around here close at sunset. My big fish count has gone way down as a result. I've caught fish on just about everything at night but most would be on Texas rig and traps.

Sonor
I run Lowrance, but they are all very good. At the console, I run charts, downscan and side scan. No 2D. On the bow, charts and 2D.

Best gps trolling motor and electronics
As of right now, I would say the Motorguide Xi5 with Lowarance HDS Touch is the best setup. That's primary comparing Motorguide Xi5 anchor mode with Minn Kota Terrova Ulterra Spot Lock. The Xi5's anchor mode is vastly superior on keeping you tight on a waypoint. Spot Lock drifts all over the place. I fished out of boats with both before I purchased an Xi5. The Xi5's steering motor is much quiter too. That said, the Minn Kota Ultrex is going to be a game changer. It's supposed to have an improved Spot Lock that puts it on par with the Xi5. The big thing though is it is a hybrid cable steer/electornic steer. The Xi5, Terrova and Ulterra foot control's SUCK!!! The Ultrex will work like a traditional cable steer trolling motor when not using the GPS features. It's going to be costly though. $2000+. If I was starting over, that's the direction I would go. But at this point for me, replacing the Xi5 with a Ultrex and 3 Lowrance HDS Touches with Hummingbird is just too much.

How do you fish a Senko normally: Wacky, Texas Rig, Other
Texas rig weightless 100% of the time. I always have a rod setup for it but I really don't throw it that often. I tend to fish more in the afternoon thru evening and always have some wind to deal with. Not really into throwing weightless in the wind.
