  2. Just picked her up late Dec. Waiting warmer weather. 2015 Aluacraft Competitor 175 wth the new 2.1L 115hp merc.
  3. and its for sale too! http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/boa/5363100291.html
  4. Looked on Craigslist mass. found this in the 6s https://worcester.craigslist.org/boa/5328636469.html I my self don't really care for glass boats but this doesn't looks to bad. If you go Alum you prob could get a boat thats in better shape than a glass one for 6k range. Found this to, not sure on how far away it is but give you an idea https://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/boa/5391057109.html
  5. Whats your budget? Alum bass boats in the 2-3 range will have some wear and tear on them. 3500-8k its in the late 90s-2000s and will still be good shape as long as the owner(s) took care of it, low maintenance or repairs. 9+ These boat will be in the best shape, cleanest, lower Hrs. Fiberglass boat hold their resale a little better than Alum but still it all depends on the owner(s). For instance; I'm selling my older bass boat it's a 99 Tracker deep V16ft Alum, engine runs great it had a tune up done and PMs, paint is in decent shape, no transom rot, carpet n seats are in good shape with no rips. Trailer has some cosmetics but is in good shape with new tires and LEDs. I put it up for 4999OBO
  6. I got a battery charger from bass pro for 12/24v two bank its made by promariner
  7. Got it in today, put some cheap 10LB mono on it with 1/4 oz on it, set the brakes to max and started casting. wow that Infinity brakes make it almost impossible to cast past 10ft so I detuned the mag to half way and I'm getting low 30s but not very accurate. Its going to be a learning curve thats for sure.
  8. To me when I bought a used boat last year. -I look at how clean the owner is, did he take time to clean the boat? is his house or garage clean? If they keep things clean it shows they take pride in there belongings. -I look for did the owner keep up on maintenance and repairs?
  9. Rapala Shad rap is a excellent lure, caught a lot of bass and long nose gar. Even bought a large oak tree. it was the only one that got away.. with my lure..
  10. Thanks, Ive used one in the pass but never owned one, The ones I used were very cheap models and had poor braking systems so I fig if Im going to buy one I should get one with a great braking system to assist with my leaning. For lures. mostly using Rapala shad rap deep and shallow or other crank baits, jigs noting extremely big, From the reviews I saw its a great over all reel for all types of fishing.
  11. Been looking at upgrading to a newer reel. Right not Im currently using Zebo Omega Pro closed face reel on an Abu Garcia Ventas rod 7ft fast action med heavy rod. So I looked online and found the STX 3rd gen for 147 with free shipping so it will be here tomorrow. Anyone use this setup? Also this will be my first bait caster reel, what line should I put on it for leaning Braid, Mono and size? From what Im reading I thought of going with a mono 10b backing to a 30b braid
  12. I found MLF on Comcast line up for 1/14, Ill DVR it and watch the endings to see if they had it. Hope they do Edit: found them on MLF website thanks
  13. I didn't see that on Comcast lineup I'll have to do some searching. thanks
  14. I did watch MFL and enjoy watching guys catch fish but I wish they shared what they're using more and what presentation they're using on the jig or lure.
  15. I don't like MLF as much as informative shows like Bill Dance and Babe Winkleman. But I grew up watching informative fishing shows as well as National Geographic and Wild America
  16. Well one thing is, I wanted more room for the family and the Tracker only had a bench style seats so when I took more the sat on the decks, then when I had 4 people the 40hp Merc wasn't enough power for my liking. Fig if I was to spend 6k on a new engine, and make some seating for the decks I'm over 7k since my merc would need a new warring harness for the 4s. cleaning out my fuel tank, and the fan wants to try skiing and tubing. So thats why I upgraded
  17. I just did the same, upgraded to a new 2015 Competitor 175 with a merc 115 4s elxpt. Now i just have to sell my Tracker to help pay for the Alumacraft
  18. I use rods that I get for a good price and what I intend to use them for Abu, Ugly Stick,
  19. BTW if your looking for a well maintained fishing boat. CLICK HERE its my 98 Tracker Deep V16 pro Angler.
  20. Thanks, Newer pic, getting everything switch over from the tracker to the Aluma. I have to say " the tracker has about the same amount of storage room as the Aluma but the Aluma has smaller compartments then the tracker making it somewhat challenging to store everything with out taking up rod storage. What would help is getting better life jackets and dropping the cheep large orange neck wrap style.
  21. Hello and welcome, Lasalle Lake is nice as well as Braidwood Lake, Mazon area, best fishing is Lake Shelbyville or Clinton Lake.
  22. I cast right handed and crank with my left, but i do everything else right handed.
  23. Just these two pics. for now. Ill grab some soon when I pick her up
  24. I didn't get the Ipilot because I was over my budget. I was told that if I wanted to add it on later its a 499$ kit.
