  1. I have a Revo SX 6.4 paired with a MH 6'9" Veritas 15# Yozuri hybrid I use for big worms and swim jigs. I think they are still a little stiffer that most other MH rods but to me I still feel the bite really well. I have also used this setup to throw zoom horny toads at daylight and dark out the yak and like it better than my current frog setup (Lews 7.1-Falcon HD MH 7' 30# PP). If I had to do it again I would buy the 7.1 Revo SX and think I could have covered everything from buzz baits to C-rigs with one setup, but then again I would have the excuse to buy more setups.
  2. I just started fishing a swim jig this spring. I'm using a Veitas MH 6'9" with 15# Yozuri hybrid. The shorter length helps throw under docks but I think the 3" over the 6'6" gives it a little more sensitivity to detect the bite on the fall.
  3. Just purchased this reel. When I took it out the box and attached the handle I notice a clicking sound when I reeled. I tightened the handle and it stopped. Today when out on the water I would make a long cast the clicking would resume. To stop it all I had to do is push the spool down or re-tighten the handle. So my question is is something just loose or do I need to return the reel.
  4. Just went through the same dilemma for my Revo SX 30. I use the Fenwick HMG casting for speck and reds in the marsh and it's great, but I found its fishes like a heavier power rating than other rods. So I think the medium would be a great choice for the type of fishing your looking to do. It has great backbone and sensitivity but, I chose the Duckett Ghost 7' medium to use for shaky head and weightless sinkos. The Ghost for me, has a softer tip witch brings these baits alive. I took it out today for the first time and it preformed great.
  5. I own a couple of Lews speed spools (6.4:1, 7.1:1) and a Revo S and SX. I do like the Revo's better but have not had any issues with the Lews. The things I like about the Revo's are the click on the brake and drag, but once you get the Lews set they are spot on and they seem easier to palm with smaller diameter rods.
  6. I've been inshore fishing with Shimano reel for several years, mostly Saharas 4000 one Stradic FI 4000. Pflueger just would not stand up to the salt very well. After I started bass fishing a few years ago I purchased another Sahara FE 2500 and snapped the handle with in the first month. Shimano made good and the warrenty but I have been in search of a new spinning reel ever since. I've been through the Symetre 2500 but it hits my knuckles and I wish they still included the spare spool. Now I'm waiting for my Revo SX 30 to come in, the reel seem very smooth in the store and I like the line capasity. Hope this helps.
