Panoptix Livescope problem
Thanks for the vid it helped a bit but i guess that's all we have to work with. Spoke with a garmin rep and basically said you have to play with the settings too one thing i noticed is that if you take the forward view only out to 10ft range and adjust the settings it looks good but whats the point in only looking out 10 ft lol

Panoptix Livescope problem
Hi, i always found this forum to be the best help so here it goes. I purchase a garmin live scope bundle with a 95SV unit. Evey thing works well awesome tech but i noticed one thing. When in Live scope forward view (when used on the ice) i see a lot of interference between the 0 and 5-10ft mark. Its not your typical interference but big arches that start at the bottom and arc forward and 3 distinct ones every time i use the forward view and at the the bottom where they start it is always cluttered and hard to see i play with the Gain and it does go away but then it would have to decrease it to a point where i cant even see fish. anyone have the same issues? Note; you see it less with different screen colors like amber but it is still there. Thanks,

raymarine axiom and aqua vu??
The manual I think was referring to the cameras on the boat (their own onboard one ) and not underwater ones, but I don't know the 3rd party ones are compatible. I went to the raymerine forums but I can't activate an account to post the question. So I was hoping someone would know. Thanks

Help with new Casting Setup
Angry John - thanks i know absolutely nothing about the JPN market, but i am not gonna lie their stuff looks really sexy!!! .. it fits the category of unique and quality. THANKS FOR MAKING THINGS HARDER!!! LOL Yudo1 - i think your right you cant really go wrong whit the higher end stuff its just a matter of preference, it sounds like. roadwarrior - the custom market i dont know anything about and i feel if i go that route i may end up biting off more then i can chew and i have not ides how the custom stuff holds up against the tried and tested rods. i guess there are more options and things to think about then i though.

Help with new Casting Setup
DBL000006 - Thanks for the input, i am not a fan of any brand yet so definitely open to options, but i guess there are not a lot of abu garcia fans here lol offsidewing - maybe i should be like you and just click check out and roll with the punches, but its hard to fight the tested setups but also i like being unique and having something different (geez i sound like a girl picking out an outfit for the night) lmbfisherman - you da man ... i have now fallen in love with you. Natural Sports does have it and my buddy runs the smokes at Waterloo so he may be able to help in picking it up. now i am back up to having options for rods but i think the consensus is MH F or XF would work well. would M work or no? ... so i guess only issue is to find that exact setup so time to make some phone calls.

Help with new Casting Setup
new2BC4bass - buyers remorse!!! i hate that feeling!! lol offsidewing - thanks for the insight in the Steez, it seems like he is the new kid on the block and not much people use it, but it sounds like the Shimano reels have more love. so it may be a matter of try the new kid or stick with what works well. i do need to try them out live to get a good feel for them. That may be the deal breaker. bigfruits - big kick in the ..... no one here in Toronto has NRX ... i was starting to fall in love only to have my heart torn out. Anyone know any Canadian retailers that my have it? though i did find the St Croix Legend Elite so i may have to go that route.

Help with new Casting Setup
LOL to be honest, you ever get that feeling where "I wish i bought something better" i hate that feeling so that the reason for the high budget. I know others have like 4-5 or even 10 set ups taken on a boat but i tend to go with 3-4 ppl on a boat and usually dont have that much space to have that many set ups. So in the end i want 2 really good setups that will do the job and last me a longtime. Bigfruits - Thanks for the advise, i dont know anything about custom so i would probably stick to something i can buy, unless you can point me in the right direction, Note i am in Canada so supply is limited. thanks for the suggestions do you know the difference between the Aldebaran and Metanium? Thanks,

Help with new Casting Setup
The season is coming up again and this time around i am looking to purchase a casting setup. I purchased my spinning setup with the amazing help of the people here so maybe you guys can help me with a casting setup as well. I normally fish only plastics and jigs so having something centered around that would be preferred but not necessary. my budget for rod and reel is about $1000.00 So far i been looking at Abu Garcia® Revo® MGXtreme® Low Profile - considering it due to weight and i have smaller hands so my feel better Daiwa Steez SV TWS Baitcast Reel - I like the sound of the new T wing tech Shimano Metanium MGL - a lot of people recommended As for rod i been looking at the St Croix legend and the G. Loomis GLX, but i need to do more research on the rods. So far i am thinking 7ft with Heavy fast or Med heavy Fast. I am open to any recommendations. Thanks,

Help with FishFinder settings
i am sure its the DI combo .... because i do not recall a 83khz option the weird part is i swear i saw a 800khz option for 2d sonar (3 options) unless i am completely dreaming. Question though - there is a 455khz sensitivity setting ... does playing with this do anything?

Help with FishFinder settings
One kicker I forget to mention. average depth is like 10ft and max depth is about 25ft. weeds are as high as 10-15 feet from the bottom !!!!!!! lol but I used clear mode and played around with he setting but I did not get any positive hits for fish. so I spent most of the day on max mode with sensitivity around 3-4 and I was able to see the weed lines but could not identify any fish arches due to the abundance of weeds. Note: my buddy caught 3 bass in the weeds and 1 wallie and I got 1 big wallie but non if it showed up on the finder .... we ended up mainly using it to identify depth and how high the weeds were.

Help with FishFinder settings
Hey guys, The season is back up and running for me and i need some help with my fish finder. I got and old 597ci HD (my brother got a ONIX so i got his old one) and mounted it on the back of the boat using a Sully mount however i encounter 2 big issue - fist time user of finder as you can tell. (sorry no PICS but i will take pics on next trip if needed) 1. When moving and going at speed Everything works fine when using Down imaging view, everything looks perfect and i can see the bottom and weeds and any rocks, but when i look at the 2D sonar i don't see anything. To give you a better idea - all the red and strong signals turn yellow but when i strop it goes back to normal. I am suspecting its has something to do with the transducer but i played around with the height all day and same thing every time. So 2D sonar cannot pick up anything at speed. any advice? 2. The lake i go to has a ton of weeds, so is it normal for the transducer to kinda show a bunch of red and at times not be able to detect the bottom due to how thick the weeds are? I payed around withe the setting but does anyone have advise on a good setting for lakes with lots of weeds like .... - max mode vs clear mode - transducer beam settings (odd thing that happened on the 2D i had a 8XXhz setting but when i when i did a factory reset it disappeared ) - Sensitivity setting - Fish if on or off - Fish Id sensitivity Thanks in Advance,

Albright Knot Fails?!!
for me it was a bit different, the first time I though it was me and I was really bummed out that I lost a big one. so I pulled out my phone and followed the instructions exactly and the knot looked exactly like the site. it worked with no problem reeling in 2x med size perch, but maybe that was my mistake and i should have retied it at that point. But does that not defeat the purpose ... I am sure you do NOT want to spend all your time to tie a knot that you have to retie every few fish vs something that just works the whole time your out on the lake? when I said screw the Leader had no problems after and reeled in 1x 2lb and 1x 2.5lb. \ I personally prefer to tie less and cast more and not worry that if it will fail. Lots of people have said the more things you have on your line the more room for failure and I think i experienced this first hand.

Albright Knot Fails?!!
maybe this happend ? becuse i tied it and then when i pulled hard on both lines it was tight ... the 2nd time the line even digged into my skin a bit cuz i was testing it to make sure it was tight. I even caught a small perch on it 2x but hte moment a big one hit and the fight started it stopped, and at the end of my like was my curled up small ball of braided line. I even followed the diagram on the Animated knot site. so i am sure i did it right. but after losing 2 big ones i went straight braid with no problem. question is should i give it anouther try or dont even bother? do i really need a leader?
-
Albright Knot Fails?!!
Hi skilled Fisherman, i was fishing just this sat and decided to use a leader and use an albright knot to tie the 2 lines together. only problem is i lost 2 big ones due to the knot failing. is the knot a bad knot or should i even use a leader? and yes i tied it properly!
