  3. This forum has always been a wealth of help and knowledge so i hope some one can help me pick a fishfinder. it will be portable and used on a small 4-5 man boat and at times on a Pontoon, i have been researching the following Lowrance Elite 3x Fishfinder or DSI (is getting DSI better?) Lowrance Elite-4 CHIRP or Lowrance Elite-4X CHIRP Fishfinder with Down Imaging 120 fishing buddy Any advice? Thanks,
  4. thanks for the tips.... maybe i should just stick to my 10 lb mono for now untill the season is over and go braid or floro for next season ... to many options lol
  5. Hi guys, First of all thanks for all your help on my new set up, I now have a new Fenwick Aetos with a Shinamo shimano stradic ci4+ so thank-you I have a 10lb Monofilament line on my reel but i was advised that it would be better if i put a braided line on it as its better with senko setup and if you catch something like a walleye your line will hold. My question is what is the pros and cons of each type of line and what would you recommend as an all round line Monofilament - pros - cons Braid - pros - cons Fluorocarbon - pros - cons
  6. Thanks for the advise guys i think i will go wiht the Aetos 7" m-f .... now i just need to narrow down how much i am willing to spend on my reel LOL thanks!
  7. you make a solit point i will have to test it out to see but correct me if i am worng WACKY WORM style is also knows as the shakey head technique? and if taht is true according to Fenwiock for Aetos - its Medium , Fast 6,6 HMG - Medium, Fast, 7.0 correct?
  8. my thought exactly its jsut a matter of how much i want to spend becuse if i go all out i would do the aethos and the sardic Ci4 LOL That will run me in the 500 - 600 range. but for sure 100% now i am sticking with spinning! I HAVE NO LOVE FOR BAITCASTING!
  9. so if i was looking for a All round rod to do everyting for .... Aetos - What is the recomended Length / Action / and Power (i was thinking 7" / Medium heavy / Fast) HMG - What is the recomended Length / Action / and Power (i was thinking 7" / Medium / Fast) NOW I HAVE TO DEBATE IF I WANNA TRY BAIT CASTING or stick with my spinning
  10. i think i am gonna go with the HMG i dont think the extra $80 for the aetos is worth the difference and i also dont think i am that professtional to notive the differnece either. So i guess its a matter of what is in stock.
  11. I get the same feeling from any Fenwick owner / reviews. They all love it and the price is in line with outher brands in the market like the Abu Garcia, St Croix and G lommis but fenwick seem to have the most love insted of hate. if i go for the Aaetos i will problby go it with the pflueger president to save cost (unless you have nouther reel to recommend) if i go for the HMG i will problby go it with the Daiwa Ballistic to save cost (unless you have nouther reel to recommend) What you think?
  12. Hi guys, I finally narrow down on the rods, Thinking of Fenwick Aetos Fenwick HMG Reel (still not sure) Leaning towards pflueger president for reel What are your thoughts? i was thinking of getting Aetos now and then upgrage the reel later down the road Thanks,
  13. thanks for the tips guys ... i did not know the 2.0 was that well rounded .... i read in some reviews that the reaction / sensitivity was not as good as the older versions but i guess if you have good set up and line you will be ok. the pflueger president definately sound good for price vs quality ratio... i will definaly consider it!!! how are the fenwick rods? my brother used them and he swears by them but how do they compare to the 2.0? oh and where would i go for some info on lines ? Note: ill have to update my profile too!
  14. Hi Guys, I been doing alot of research on the best setup for rod and reel and it has been extreamly hard to narrow things down and its driveing me crazy. I use to fish with my dad back in the days and its been 20 years since i have done it and i miss beyond belif. So i wanna get back into it and rekindle the old memories. i am sure lots has changed since the last 20 years so here is my question. Back then i only used live bait but now i hear of the Wacky worm set up that drives Bass WILD! So my question is, What is the best / Most recommended Spinning Rod and Reel (Total price for both about $300 - $400) So far i was thinking Quantum Energy PT with Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0. (did not hear any bad about the reel but herd the Abu is prone to breaking - and i dont want a rod that breaks) All i am looking for what would be the top 3 reel or Rod choice. (I herd Fenwick is godly, but St Croix is good value - but all the versions confuse me) Thanks for the HELP!!
