  1. I'll try it but I wish I had a better idea as to which type and color of plastic to get The youtube videos I saw on different retrieves didn't seem too complicated though.
  2. I would be more than thrilled to find a lure that caught me 3 fish an hour. If this is something that can do it I'm more than willing to give it a shot, I just don't understand how it works. The video says the way elaztech presents to fish is more convincing than just a jig and senko.
  3. I would say it goes about a foot to a foot and a half.
  4. I used a blue gill painted shallow scatter at a pond that hadn't been fished in a long time and got 15 fish in less than two hours. I also caught fish there on a scatter jointed minnow and a slightly deeper diving one that is penguin colored (I have trouble with that one swimming in circles though). I have a scatter "shad" that I haven't even got a nibble on though. I like them, but haven't been overly impressed with any of them except the shallow scatter. I did just order a "deep scatter" just b/c I wanted to try it out, but I haven't got it in the mail yet. I honestly don't know how to compare them to other cranks b/c I've been mostly trying them a lot in another pond where the bass absolutely refuse to bite on any crank lure, and we've thrown crank in our tackle boxes at them. I probably won't buy any more b/c I'm doing a lot better with soft plastics, but if you have a place where cranks are a good lure, and you don't have to worry about losing them (they are awfully expensive) then you'll probably be able to get fish on them.
  5. The video from bass resource that I saw made it sound like it was the fact that it stood straight up on the bottom and hopped around like a feeder fish that induced strikes. I'm really confused about what it is about this particular set up that is supposedly getting people 25+ fish an hour? It just looks like a jig with half of a senko on it, I have no earthly understanding about why this lure is supposed to be so enticing
  6. Tackle warehouse has a bunch of different kinds of trds, I think i'm going to have to break down and try some after I get my next check >_<
  7. I was confused about this also when I went and read the product description of zeros... O_o
  8. If I want to use a weight I've just used a regular jig head. I don't really see the purpose in having super specialized wacky rig weights.
  9. Cool thanks! Buying a small amount is probably a good idea. I've been catching fish this summer on different colors and different sizes, so TBH I don't think one brand or whatever is going to do me any better than another either. I just like the 6" b/c it is the easiest to cast, and now that we cleared Walmarts discount bin out of Yums, I can't find any more anywhere
  10. So I really like Yum's 6" "dinger" (senko style bait), but I can't find anyone near me that sells them anymore. I can get 30 of them online for about $15 (which isn't terrible, but it's more than I want to pay) or there is someone selling something very similar on Ebay that is handmade for $8-$9. So my question is will handmade plastics work as well? I know Yums come with some kind of fish oil on them, but I'm catching fish on them after multiple uses, to where I'm sure there is no oil left. Other then that, I don't know what difference there might be.
  11. why do they react to other plastics?
  12. Yeah I just don't know anything about hooks and I've never really fished soft plastics before this year so I'm bound to make some mistakes. I caught lots of largemouth today at the pond on plastic craws so I can tell a huge difference when I have the right hook Maybe I'd have gotten a few more with a higher quality hook? I lost at least 5 bites, possibly from either missing the hook set or something. Could you link me what you'd recommend?
  13. Finally got 3 at the pond on the super spook jr, one of them the biggest I've ever caught. I guess it just comes down to the time of day and if the fish are biting
  14. I've tried over the last year to get a fish on a lipless and haven't ever had a nibble on them. I'm sure they have their place, but I haven't found anything useful for them
  15. it's these: http://fishfreakonline.com/gamakatsusuperlineewgwt50116.html?utm_source=googlepepla&utm_medium=adwords&id=60193252536&gclid=CLKEguq33sUCFQYzaQod7IkA8A I got a tone of bites on plastic craws and my guess was the fish was either biting on the eye of the hook and I was pulling them straight out, or the plastic craw wasn't collapsing well enough. (I switched to Yum craws since they seemed more flexible but haven't used them much yet so I don't know if that will help). But I was using this hook with a big plastic worm thingy, and had the same issue. (Although I did have less bites that day) I dunno, I'm going to try the generics again next time I use plastic craws or swim plastics and see how it goes. I just got the gamas b/c they were $2 in a discount bin so if they don't work out it's not really any loss.
  16. Oh really? The videos I saw just had people fishing them on offset hooks, I wasn't planning on spending another $5 on jigs lol >_<
  17. I dunno, I just didn't have any problem hooking fish until I tried the gama hooks. The only ones I hooked with the gamas were when the fish that had the lure in their mouth for a significant time before I set the hook.
  18. I can't wait to try these out next time!
  19. I apologize, but I don't know how or why this got posted twice, and I don't know how to delete the post entirely.
  20. http://www.berkley-fishing.com/PowerBait%C2%AE-Rib-Snake/1311902,default,pd.html I got a pack of these, but haven't got to fish them yet. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them, and if so how do they compare to power worms, or senkos etc?
  21. I'm really new to fishing plastics, and I got some generic offset hooks from Wal-mart, and then some higher quality Gamakatsu hooks in a discount bin. I don't have any trouble catching fish with the generics, but the Gamakatsus are pointed inward a little more and have absolutely no give to them at all. I noticed since I started using one of those I'm not hooking the fish anymore unless they've had the lure in their mouth a long time. I was wondering if this might just be a matter of perception on my part, or if I should just stick with the generics that have a lot more give to them in the future? I think the "give" in the hook probably brings it up through the lip, while the rigid Gamakatsus are just getting pulled straight out of their mouths without finding anything to hook on.
  22. I'm going to have to try that one out
  23. Cool thanks for the advice!
  24. We've been fishing a pond the last week or so that almost no one has fished in the last 2 years to my knowledge. The fish absolutely refuse to bite on crank baits. We've tried about everything we have and have only had one bite on a crank in 30+ hours of fishing. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't think most of the fish there are old enough to have been acclimated to cranks. Although they seem hesitant to bite on anything in general, even though we do get occasional bites on plastics.
