  1. Hi all, I have just moved to Lake Country WI from London UK and need your help. To cut aong story short, I ventured to the local tackle shop one day and in a buying frenzy, I bought 3 different St Croix Avid rods. Each is paired with a Shimano CI4+ but I'm unsure what to use each for. Would you kindly let me know what you would use each rod for and why with the bait and terminal tackle you would use; * St Croix Avid 7ft Medium Power with Fast Action * St Croix Avid 6ft 8" Medium Power with Extra Fast Action * St Croix Avid 6ft 9" Medium / Light Power with Extra Fast Action. Thanks in advance, your help is very much appreciated. Matthew
  2. Thanks guys for your help. I was dead set I had the wrong setup and I was going to use this setup for small spinners and then get myself a St Croix Legend Elite 7" Medium Heavy with a fast action in order to fish Texas rig style.
  3. Thanks guys. I got the extra fast as I thought this would be the most sensitive tip. I got medium light as I thought the fish wouldn't be that big. My concern is that the extra fast action isn't right and that my 15lb braid and 8lb Fluoro is too heavy.
  4. Hi all, I am new to fishing, less than a week in. My wife is from Milwaukee but we met in London where I lived and now we moved back to Lake Country in Mikwaukee to be close to her relatives. On an impulse I bought a St. Croix Avid X 6 9" MLXF for Bass fishing using a Texas rig but I'm not sure it is the right option. The lake I fish is called Silver Lake and I have caught some small large mouth Bass which are the dominant species. I'm not fussed if I bought the wrong rod for the job, let me know what a St. Croix Avid X 6 9" MLXF would be best used for ? Thanks in advance Matthew
