  1. I know here in Kentucky we call them ky bass, which I believe is a spot. The tell tell sign is the tongue, they have a rough patch on them, and by your picture the tongue looks rough.
  2. CATS CATS CATS. GO BIG BLUE
  3. I heard that Evers did plant brush piles, but wasnt able to use them during this tourney. The water had fluctuated so much that he had to change plans. The area he fished the last two days he hadnt visited in the last two years. I am not clear on the rule of planting the brush piles either, but it seems that it is open for anyone to do not just the locals.
  4. Usually when the series is over they do a show with each winner showing what they used to win with. Those shows are pretty informative, how they used the baits and in what environment they used them in.
  5. Hello Neighbor!! Welcome in
  6. This show is the facts of fishing with Dave Mercer.
  7. Hank still has a show on the outdoor channel. Fishes a lot from his private lake.
  8. I live in Lexington and fished a couple of ponds this weekend. Loved it had on shorts and t shirt. Who would have thought you could wear shorts and fish in the middle of December. Loved it though.
  9. The fish was gone for sure, Was only about 15 to 20 minutes. I assume with the tension not being on the line that maybe it was spit out somehow. Would have like to have seen how big it was to yank out of my hand.
  10. Was doing some catfishing about 2am one night, my dad and me. We both were fishing with two rods apiece. Had one take the rod right out of my hand, figured I had just lost a good bait caster. So we decided to try and hook the rod with the other rods. After about 20 casts each my dad actually hooks my rod, fish was not on there, but in the midst of reeling my rod in his second rod takes off from the boat and we see it skidding atop the water. So here we go again trying to hook his rod and after 20 minutes we gave up, he lost a brand new rod and reel.
  11. Yeah I am hoping for a milder winter than last year. I plan to try and fish all year if at all possible. Last year we got more snow than I care to see again. I know nothing like you got in Jersey. Good luck and keep me posted if you dont mind on the new BB1. Good fishing
  12. Tommy, Thanks for the info. I have the abu garcia black max and a couple other baitcasters, been using since I was around 12. I have no worries about using the bait caster, just cant really afford the expensive ones.Glad to hear you like the Lews, I have never had one and glad you are having great success with it. Look forward to purchasing one and putting it to use. If I can ask what size line did you put on yours. I was thinking of 14 lb test mono. Just curious. I myself love to throw the senko and I have no problem on the black max. Also love throwing a crank bait and chatterbaits. Dont think I will have any trouble at all with the Lews. Thanks again for the input
  13. Question? Anyone purchased or used the Lews american hero baitcast combo from Sportsmans warehouse? Thinking of purchasing one and just wanting to get some advice. Thanks for any input good or bad
  14. Welcome Neighbor. Lexington here
  15. I caught a 8 lb cat in a pond on a horse farm in Ky on a crankbait. Great fight, thought I had a huge bass but was happy with the Cat.
