  1. Check out the Rage series by St Croix, they have a 7'6" mhmf and a 7'11" that should do what you want. A very good blank for around $90.00
  2. I've used 20lb big game on my tatula for topwater with no problems at all. I like it for walking style baits like spooks and lately a Damiki Rambler 120 because it floats and is easier to walk the dog. I even wax the last 3 or 4 feet to help it float. For Texas rigs I will use sunline sniper fc @ 14lb test.
  3. I just picked up a curado 201B5 and to be honest, I forgot what a great reel the B's are. 20 minutes with it and my first thought was "dam, this reel feels good!". I have a curado101D and its a great reel also. I think if a guy who has a tight budget and wants a great reliable baitcaster thats trouble free and you can cast all day without backlashes, grab a curado in the B or D series used, they are well worth it. I would much rather have an older curado than a new black max or silver max for the same money. Its a no brainer for me.
  4. Seems to me a sonar unit makes a whole lot more noise than the gears from my reel.
  5. I don't know anything about the S model but I've been running a 4601 on a G Loomis FS904x for over 12 years and it's still running strong with 0 problems. Granted it's an old school rig but still works great!
  6. Congratulations and the best of luck towards a successful career.
  7. Turkey sandwich, thank you for the good info, I really appreciate it. Sounds like it should be fine for pitching spider grubs with a 3/8 tungsten worm weights.
  8. I just ordered 2 rage rods. I got the 7'6" MHMF and the 7'1" MHXF. I've read the 7'1" XF has a very soft tip. Has anyone used this stick and how do you like it? I want to use it for pitching light jigs and T-rigs and probably throw super flukes and senkos with it also.
  9. It's always hot here in S.E. New Mexico in the summer time . This week is predicted to be 103 for the next 6 days so summertime I use topwater baits, Damiki Rambler 120 and a Cavitron buzzbait in the mornings and evenings. Rest of the time is a Texas rigged worm. Tore them up yesterday on a T-rigged red shad trickworm.
  10. Super fluke or trick worm rigged weightless is what I would try.
  11. i am interested in this rod also, can't believe no one has tried one for frogs yet.
  12. I would try Navajo Lake.
