Shimano Sedona Fe
Anyone happen to try the new Sedona yet? I've been meaning to pick one up in the 1000 size to use for trout/bass. A cheaper alternative that I can abuse a bit without cringing thinking about the price tag.

Light Or Medium-Light Baitcasting Rods: Major Craft Volkey Vs. ?
I don't personally own a Volkey, but my friend does and he has the exact model you're looking at. I believe my buddy usually casts lures that are 3/16 and below. I've seen him throw weightless 3 inch senkos, 2 inch minnows, and really light 1/16th drop shots. The ML is definitely more versatile than the L because you can go really light weight finesse or you can go moderate 1/4 or maybe even 3/8th oz max. I've seen him pull in 5 lbers with this rod despite being mainly a bfs, course he had to play the fish a bit though.

1000 Size Reels For Bass
Thanks for the tip Darren. Yeah I was planning on going with a ML. I figured a M wouldn't balance as well on such a light reel? With 15 lb braid wouldn't you be down to around 80-90 yards of line. Is that more than enough line for your applications? Sadly, I've never gone below 140 yards of any lb test before.

1000 Size Reels For Bass
Thank you for all input guys. Your comments really made me feel more confident. I am planning on getting a stradic ci4 1000 FA actually. Haven't really decided on a rod yet.

1000 Size Reels For Bass
Anyone here happen to use a 1000 size reel or smaller can give me some input? I am currently in the market for a spinning reel to go with a ML action rod and I want my combo to be as light as possible. Honestly, I kinda just want some reassurance that a size 1000 reel can get the job done almost as good as a size 2000-2500 reel. I was hoping to use 6-8 lb braid and 6 lb fluro leader or even 8 lb if necessary. Would my setup be able to handle decent size bass 1-2 lbs and the rare 4+ lbers? Without dragging out too long of a fight? Thanks for any input.

Light Action Finesse Spinning Rod <200$
Hi, I'm in the market for a light action spinning rod about 6'10 ft or less. I want to use it for trout, small bass and the occasional 4-5 lb bass that I might run into. I'm hoping for some suggestions on a good reliable rod that has a strong backbone and not too whippy, despite being a light action rod. Additionally, I will be throwing very light crank baits and weightless plastics from 1/8 oz down. Thanks for any suggestions!

Finesse Casting Rod
You can look into some jdm rods. They make a lot of bfs rods (bait finesse). Some brands like majorcraft, megabass, and jackson are all excellent. Or an NRX 842C is also good just a tad bit above your price range if you look out for deals.

Broken Fishing Rod!
Find a piece of ferrule, wood, plastic, metal, brass tube whatever and try to fit it as tight as you can in the breakage to give the rod a bit of support. Use a line of braid, nylon, or some sort of thread and wrap it afterwards. Then take some epoxy or very very strong glue and coat the thread. Should hold up just fine.

Looking To Get My First High End Baitcasting Rod.
I agree with looking at the poison adrena. I am extremely happy with the rod. I think it performs a bit better than the expride in feel and sensitivity.Additionally, I pretty much use my adrena for everything from moving baits to texas rigs. The adrena retails for 400, but I bought mine new for less than 300. The only other rods I might've wished I got instead of the poison adrena is either a megabass or nrx, but I am perfectly content with my adrena.

Do You Fish Alone Or With A Buddy?
Having company sometimes make fishing even more enjoyable. I seem to get the most bites when I am chatting away with my buddy. Sadly, I also miss the most bites as well chatting with him...

Help Fixing The Butt End
I realized the hardest part is finding something that would actually fit tightly in the breakage. The old rod I was meaning to cut down to put inside, is actually too small. Any tips on where i can get carbon fiber for cheap or is there other alternative materials I can just stick inside for a strong foundation?

Help Fixing The Butt End
I haven't tried doing something like this before, so what kind of glue or bond should I use when trying to insert the rod piece into the breakage? Also should i be using a specific rod thread or would any wrapping do to secure the cracks? I just want to make sure I am using the right stuff to piece this rod together...

Help Fixing The Butt End
I recently cracked the end of my rod right above the rod cap. Now the rod butt is basically breaking off. How would I go about attaching the end of my rod back together without causing anymore cracks that may lead up towards the reel seat? I was thinking about cutting a piece off of an old fishing rods and inserting it into the breakage, wrap the area in some sort of thread, and epoxying it. Hopefully someone can chime in on a method that may help keep the area structurally sound as I don't want the rod to fall apart.

Golf Course Ponds??
i am led to believe that most golf course ponds will hold fish, but the hard part is getting permission or at least knowing a member. Otherwise, get ready to put on some dark clothing and become a ninja.

Went Out Fishing Today And Maybe Saved A Life By Doing So.
Amazing coincidence that you found him. And he was already out there for four days. Who knows how much longer he would've been out there if you hadn't shown up. I'd say you definitely saved his life.

Most Favorite And Least Favorite Techniques
lol, blow ups are overrated

Most Favorite And Least Favorite Techniques
My favorite fishing technique is probably either crank bait or top water. After fishing something fast it becomes so hard for me to slow things down and use something like a dropshot/texas rig worm. Thus, I get super impatient that I can't cover a whole lot of water in a short amount of time. I suppose if you want to catch fish you gotta do what you gotta do and give em what they want right?

One Lure To Catch Them All
Probably a texas rigged 1/8-3/16 oz bullet, 1/0-2/0 round bend hook, and a 6 inch worm power worm or culprit curly tail. Probably the most consistent producer ever in my opinion.

Buying Reels From Japan
I recently purchased a JDM reel from japan and I didn't have to pay any customs fee. Not only that, but shipping was incredibly fast. I'd even say it came faster than most items I ordered in the U.S. I think customs fee really depends on where you live. I heard people from the west coast have no trouble with customs fee, otherwise if you live up north or something be weary.

Most Expensive Lure
Yamamato Senkos, kidding, but those things are dang expensive. Seriously though, probably my lucky craft flash minnows, 20 dollars. I use it to catch halibut in the west coast. Caught many on them.
