  1. duly noted thanks
  2. Thanks Jakob, good to know the XPS works. I've fished with plenty of quality lures from rapela to megabass, but I've never given any of the cheaper alternatives a chance, so i just thought what if I wanted to save some cash then maybe those BPS would be a good bargain. Was thinking about picking up a bag of the zman turbo craws or the new batwingz trailer
  3. That was the plan I figured I was going to stock up on a few bags of plastics/ terminal tackle then whatever I had left I'd buy some hard baits. I thought I would just get a few more hard baits if i didn't buy the expensive brands, but Choporoz did make a good point above...
  4. Was thinking about grabbing 1 or 2 of those as well! Thanks for the input Mike very helpful! I just thought well should I buy 2-3 cheaper alternatives or is what you pay for is what you get kinda thing and I should just buy 1 quality compare to 2-3 cheaper ones. Quantity > Quality?
  5. thanks for the recommendation guys. I feel a bit more at ease now purchasing the imitation stuff the XPS and Stick-Os were also the stuff I was looking at, but was afraid of its quality compared to well known brands.
  6. Well, I enjoy a a variety of bass fishing techniques. I am open to anything new, but I do a lot of the general worm/jig, crankbait, and spinnerbait fishing. I was looking for several crankbaits and jerkbaits. Though, other than the well known brands, I've never tried any of the imitations or even BPS brands. This includes fishing line and all the terminal tackle as well.
  7. Hello all, I just received a 100 dollar gift card for Bass Pro Shop and I was wondering if you fellas can give me some ideas of what to purchase to make the best use of the gift card. I was planning on stocking up on lures and terminal tackle, since I already just purchased a good rod/reel already. What types of things should I look out for to get the most out of this gift card, since I know if I added a few lures here and there it would add up real quick. For example, are there cheaper alternative that I can purchase instead of a name brands like rapala or lucky craft that will perform decently? Maybe even tell me what you would personally get if you had a 100 dollar gift card and i'll just copy and paste your answer into my shopping cart
  8. I miss the days where I thought purchasing one expensive setup would keep the monkey off my back
  9. Thanks for the input, really appreciate it! Yup, I've been looking up kistler a lot as well. Feels like the more i research the more rod options start piling up. If only I can buy more than one high end rod right now
  10. I have seen the shimano zodias, poison adrena, and expride at my local tackle shop. They felt really nice in hand, light, and seems tough. Anyone here who happen to own any of these rods can give me a bit more insight on them?
  11. I read up a lot on JDM rods as well and they all seem nice such as megabass and majorcraft. Though, my only problem is that I wouldn't be able to hold one and see how it feels with my metanium. I would be taking a leap of faith if i purchased one
  12. Too many good suggestions. I might have to go hit up the old tackle shop and try holding all of these again once my metanium comes in. lol
  13. Hi, I am planning on purchasing the metanium 13 and was wondering if anyone here can help me find a good all purpose rod? I plan on making this one of my last purchases for a long time, so I need a good quality rod preferably <300 dollar, 6'8-7'0 M or MH. I mainly throw light texas rigs/jigs, but would like the option to pick up some other duties if necessary, ie light spinner baits/cranks.
  14. Thanks for all the excellent suggestion guys. I'll be sure to check out the Alpha SV and the BB inshore series. Honestly, I thought i was confident in getting either the team lite or chronarch, but you guys definitely made me question my choices lol.
  15. I hear a lot of great things about lews and well the tournament lite and team lite are quite affordable for being so lite at 5.7-.5.8 ounces. I'm a sucker for a light weight finesse setup that I will be able to fish with all day. Though, an inshore reel would definitely be a logical choice. I just don't like how heavy they are, although they work tremendously well for salt and fresh.
  16. that's a hefty bass. Thanks for the input
  17. Hi, I'm new to the forum and i'd appreciate some help choosing a new reel. I have been debating between the Lew's Team lite, Tournament lite, and the Shimano Chronarch ci4. Though, if I go with the lews this will be my first lews reel ever. I've always been with shimano. , I'd like to know if the price difference between the two lew's lite is worth the jump to get the team lite? Additionally, I would like to use my new reel for both fresh and saltwater fishing, so will the lews fair decently in salt water considering they're more known for freshwater applications? I appreciate any input and experience with these reels! Thank you
