St.Croix CS ?
I sent the rod back to St Croix.Total cost was $40($20 shipping and $20 Silver Plan). Two week turn around. They did a nice job cleaning as well.Good to know as I have two more St Croix rods that may need service in the future. No problems now but you never know. I'm happy and will recommend. Thanks for the responses.

St.Croix CS ?
I have a Legend spinning rod I bought a few years back used on ebay. The rod was then and still is in great original condition.A problem developed last year where the handle has come loose.I can hold the reel in one hand and twist the handle back and forth. The reel doesn't spin all the way around the rod,it just goes so far, enough to knock it off alinement with the guides.I'm thinking of sending it to their service-warranty department. From their website it looks like I have to pay to ship it to them and include a check for $20 to cover return shipping(Silver Plan).I'm not complaining I think it's quite reasonable.Have any members reading this used their services for warranty work? How did it go?Would I be better off finding someone local to repair this?I would have spent $40 in shipping alone and there may be a charge from St.Croix on top of that.I'm not sure of the age.I would quess 10 years old.I looked for the Sn but I couldn't find it.Not sure if it rubbed off or to small for these old eyes to see. Thanks for your help.

what a drag
Well the Smoke is smoked. The drag pooped again and me being me I decide to fix it myself. All went well until a tiny snap ring(that I didn't have to remove)went into orbit. I folded up the paper towels I had the parts on and stuck them back in the box.Time for a new reel. Thinking of trying a Revo.It seems like they are pretty well made and perform as expected.I have an Energy on my frog rod and just may get another.I like the flip switch. Can anyone recommend a good all around baitcaster.I get dizzy looking over all there is out there.

boat junk yards?
Any one know of some?I have a SmokerCraft Fisherman made in the mid 80s.The port side transom corner cap was missing when I bought it.It is sort of cobbed up and I would like to find a replacement. It doesn't have to be perfect(match)just functional.I have searched the web and come up empty except for some overpriced plastic repos. thanks

what a drag
I don't know what I did but I fixed it.I took it apart with the aid of the assembly instructions.I cleaned off the drag discs and put it back together.I was surprised that it wasn't all too difficult. The drag now works like it is supposed to.I know I made an error by not re-greasing the discs as I had no grease.I'll give it a whirl and see how she holds up. Thanks

what a drag
Last year I bought a Quantum PT Smoke SL151Spt reel.I must say I have been very pleased with it,until now.Last week after catching the first two fish(small bass)my Ned rig got snagged on a rock.I gave it the usual pop to get it out,and I got a poop not a pop.I tightened the drag wheel a little and nothing.I would say fully cranked it isn't even one pound of drag.I may be close to the end of the 1 year warranty,so may have to pay to have it fixed.I thought about trying it myself but it looks like too many small parts for these old eyes and fingers. Anyone with experience dealing with Quantum CS,I would like your input. Thanks

prop debth
or why such a splash.I think I have the proper mounting debth.Boat and motor level ,cavitation plate aprox 0.5 in.above keel line.I have 40hp evinrude mounted to a CMC Power tilt on a 14ft SmokerCraft. The motor did not have a power tilt/trim so I went the after market route.Buying a unit to convert was just not cost effective. The CMC works like a charm but now I get almost a duel rooster tail effect which to me isn't the best.I wonder if because of the set back from the CMC,now the motor mount(for lack) is causing it.I need to go take a look see but I need someone to drive while I hang off the back. Just wondering if anyone with a CMC T&T unit has this issue and how did you fix it. BTW Bass were on yesterday hit all I threw at them.Frogs on the paddys, drop shot and MoJos,best of the day was 3.7lbs,I post a pick when it's sent to me by Fishbuddy. Thanks

Electrical help needed!!!
You should check the battery under a load.A good battery tester is a good thing to have.If it's 2 12v batteries series connected ,one or both batteries could be dead.A dead battery can still drive a volt meter but nothing else. GL
