  1. When I was younger a buddy and I were fishing our home lake in Central Iowa. Fishing a steep drop with deep diving crankbaits in the summer. My buddy in the back of the boat claims he has a fish but pulls a HUGE thong into the boat. Cut it off over the water with a pair of scissors so he wouldn't have to touch it. Not before we took a picture. The spot we were fishing was not more than 100 yards away from the beach area of the lake. Wonder what the lady left the beach looking like if her thong wasn't on?
  2. I have only fished it once, from the bank. No fish were caught. I'd love to here the some results though as it is pretty close to where I live. Good luck!
  3. I'm riding this train too. Saving up my big fish mojo until the bash.
  4. Just don't tell em what the top prize is worth or you might not have enough room in the truck on the way home for all the clothes.
  5. True that. It's gonna be a fun weekend regardless. We should all grab some of that LOZ BBQ that was referenced on the thread one night.
  6. Went to Lone Star Friday from about 9-2. Spent the first 2+ hours in the homes arm with nothing to show for it. Caught the first fish on a rocker head and pit boss off the rocks right next to the ramp. Fished my way toward the beach arm with a few more short fish on the rocker head. Picked up a bone jerkbait and had a dink fest on the windy side of the arm. Finished with around 15 fish, biggest only about 2 pounds. Smallest was hardly longer than the RC Stick I was throwing. I did watch a guy catch a smallie on a jerkbait right in front of me. Kinda jealous . Went up to Iowa to visit family for Easter and had just about the same result. Bone jerkbait with a lot of 12-15 inch fish. I'm ready to catch a big fatty soon. Aiming for the BBB!
  7. Looked like that second wiper almost stole your rod.
  8. There is a lot of touching going on in this post and I'm not sure what to think about it... Looks like an awesome day though. Nice work!
  9. Thanks for the tip. I'll have to go check it out once the grass mats up this spring.
  10. Mother nature has no consideration for fisherman...
  11. I'd say you are pretty spot on with the bait selection. I moved to Lee's Summit late last summer and fished James A Reed several times in the first few months with very few bass to speak of. I fished most of the lakes as well. Not the greatest bass fishing spot in my opinion. Especially during the warm weather months when it's getting pounded. I did notice your profile said that Prairie Lea is your favorite lake. I have heard good things about it but have only been there once and I'm am usually boatless. I have fished what little bank access there is at Jacomo and had some decent outings. Not sure if you are in a boat or not and if you live near Lee's Summit but those 2 lakes are probably some of the better in the area from what I know.
  12. What was the water temp in the trees?
  13. He's right. It all starts with a story just like yours lol. Before you know it you could run a small tackle shop out of your garage! Not a bad problem to have though if you ask me!
  14. I can probably make either one work on Friday.
  15. Yeah it's gonna be less than ideal... . Running out of time to catch a green fish in January. Might be all in on that last weekend before February.
  16. Planning on going again next Friday? My calender looks pretty open and the weather looks solid.
  17. I'd meet ya at the ramp later in the day but it probably wouldn't be until 1 or so. Probably to late.
  18. When and where? I free after lunch.
  19. So it's Thursday and the high for the day is in the upper 50's. I expect we'll see a fishing report from Clayton.
  20. Micah is a solid front seater. No doubt about it.
  21. Keep in mind the biggest bag weighed in our KC Area tourneys this year was caught out of a fish n ski. And mostly off the smaller back deck
  22. Ended up getting the 6'8" MXF Mojo. Can't wait to put it to work but this weather isn't going to make it easy.
