For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
As I search for rods the Mojo keeps coming back to the surface. I think I'm leaning more and more that way. Going to bass pro today cause I can't stand to hold on to free money any longer. Not sure what I'll leave with yet.

Had a Carbonlite casting rod when they first came out and really didn't like it. Had a lot of little quirks that I just want impressed with. I'm sure they have changed since, maybe it's time a check em out again.

I have around $100 to spend at bass pro and I am looking for a new spinning rod. I would like it to be in the "all purpose" category if possible. Any ideas?

There was a college tournament taking off from the marina I was fishing out of that day. I could have won the tournament with the biggest 5 I caught standing in the marina ha! Actually was offered $20 for that fish as a tournament boat was pulling into weigh in. To bad the marina was off limits for the tourney it woulda been a slug fest.

2015 Biggest Local Bass-(largemouth and/or smallmouth) Weight (or length if you didn't have a scale): LM - 5lbs 3oz SM - 1lb 8oz Lure: LM - Black & Blue Jig SM - Chart Craw Coffee Tube Pattern: LM - Flipping shallow wood in the mouth of a creek in the fall. SM - No pattern whatsoever. Hoping and praying all day that I might catch one. AND DID!!! Lake: LM - Cedar Valley (sadly not during the fish off... lets pretend that day never happened.) SM - Melvern Time of Year: LM - 9/26 SM - 11/22 One of these days I'm going to make it to WC or be on Melvern when the fish are actually there and get that smallie number up. Gonna be hard to beat my PB smallie given it was caught out of the Detroit River. Was fishing alone standing in a marina with 1 rod and tube tied on and no other gear. Didn't have a scale or tape with me but I'm certain it will be tough to beat around here. If anybody has an estimate on the size lets here it. I'm certain I can find a bigger LM in Kansas or Missouri than what I have caught in Iowa. Not a bad first year of fishing for me after moving to Kansas in February.

What are the prices on the Mojos at Dick's? I might be in the market for a spinning rod myself if the price is right.

Oh you'll find us on the water. As long as I can keep Micah out of the tree stand.

Made my first trip to Cedar Valley with Micah yesterday. That is one awesome looking lake. We made it to the ramp about 30 minutes before sunrise. No fish caught on a topwater to start the day. Maybe because we both had to use the bathroom at the ramp before we put in... Bounced all over the lake from first cast until the end of the day and it was TOUGH. I was pretty discouraged. We didn't catch many numbers and even less for size until the very end of the day. In the last hour or so I caught my biggest bass of the year at 5lb 3oz and not long after Micah caught his biggest bass of the year at 4lb 12 oz. All of the fish we caught came on 3 baits. Big Head Wobbler, jig and a few on a shaky head so no surprises there. Finished the day with our best 5 going around 14lbs. As tough as it was I'm pretty excited to go back as the fall progresses. Pictures had to be colored out on account of the fish off we have coming up and the super secret spots we caught the big ones in.- Lake Of The Ozarks

It's supposed to be a pretty perfect fall day Saturday. If the wind stays down it should be a solid day on Melvern.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Anybody fishing Saturday morning and need some company? Haven't gotten my weekly fix yet.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Alright so the wife and I moved to Lee's Summit from Olathe to be closer to work for her. Since I'm 30 minutes away from Micah and his Nitro I need some places to fish if I am bored on a week night. Went out to James A Reed a week or so ago and managed a few fish with a decent one in the mix but wasn't all that impressed. We are situated kinda between Longview Lake and Jacomo. I am boatless so easy shore access would be preferred. I don't mind fishing a creek or river if they have a good offering. So if anybody has any good ideas (or a free boat that comes with storage) I'm all ears.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Although a threepeat would be awesome I'm fine with putting my Hillsdale legacy to rest and fishing Miola instead.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Creative use of the phone holster there Clayton. Can't let my wife see that or she'll expect me to start answering calls on the water.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
White bass* clearly not an expert on those either ha. Biggest caught was probably near 3lb.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Micah and I took a trip to Melvern today since Micah now has a boat that can handle the bigger water. Got stormed on all the way there and had 15 -20 mph winds most of the day on the lake. Caught around 20 smallies (biggest around 2lbs) and lost about as many throughout the day. We each caught 1 largemouth, mulitple drum (one big one), Micah caught a walleye/sauger not sure which since neither of us are experts on those, and Micah also caught several whipers. All fish were caught on squarebiils. All in all a good day.You weren't catching fish if you weren't in the wind which made it a bit tough. Solid first experience at Melvern though. And I caught myself...... Took a pair of pliers and some motivation from Micah to yank the KVD 2.5 out of my own arm, which brought are day to close as you can tell there was a fair amount of blood that came with. - For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
