Minn Kota Powerdrive vs. Maxxum Pro
Wow that is strange to hear. Mine is super fast. It is only a few month old maybe they changed that for this years model. If I barley hit mine it goes in small steps but if you hold it down it goes really fast. I dont wast to doubt you all though. I think I will look into seeing if they changed anything with this years model.

TIME FOR A NEW BOAT!
Yes it is confusing. You purchases the trolling motor either the Powerdrive or Auto Pilot. You then purchase the remote control unit seperate 60 bucks or so. The remote control unit bolts right on the side of the motor bracket. It come with a male and female connector. You just plug form the motor to the remore control unit then out to the foot control. The remote unit that fits on your wrist or rod is already programed for your unit so no extra steps are required. You can also have multiple remotes if you like. Kinda useful in the event you needed a partner to take control. Very easy installation. Hope this helps. I have the Powerdrive unit not the Auto Pilot unit. One other suggestion for an aluminium boat mount your motor with these. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=45193&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults

TIME FOR A NEW BOAT!
I have not had any problem what so ever with the cord as this unit is digital it is just sending a signal not pass thru cable like the manual types. Also 95% of the time I use the remote control anyway.

TIME FOR A NEW BOAT!
Here is my 2 cents: For units with sonar and gps I like the Lowrance 339c (I have a friend that has this) if you are looking to spend a little less take a look at the M68c. I personally Use Lowrance up front x135 and an X47 in back. I also own a Garmin GPSMAP378 which I can transfer from my car to my boat. It has sonor as well as XM weather/radio capabilities but I dont use those features. As far as a boat goes I think you really need to make a decision. 1. Do you want a fishing boat that you can ski behind. 2. Do you want a ski boat that you can fish out of. If #1 is your way I would for sure take prlim2000s advice. I am even partial to the Nitro since I currently have an nx750. There are several companies that make F/S boats. Stratos and Triton to name a couple. Advantages with this option the boat you get will almost for sure be lighter and will be set at least partially for fishing. The plane/pad is usually but not always better on F/S boats so you will probably get a bit more speed. If #2 I am not very knowledgable on this. For the trolling motor I have the 54lb thrust Minn Kota Powerdrive not the Auto Pilot. I also have the remote control unit on it. I really like this trolling motor. It works great. My idea on the motor would be a 2 stroke as suggested by Cajun1977. I have a Merc on my boat but I would for sure take a look at OMC Evinrude E-Tec engines. Dont get me wrong I like my engine but always keep an open mind. This is just my opinion :-?

Bass Feeding Habbits
I think that at least a partial answer to the when and how often they eat is dependant on but not limited to, time of year, sun, moon, and barometric pressure.

Dead Bass
FLWs weighin takes like 3 hours to complete. That is just stupid as well. I know the damage might already be done but I dont think they need to drive to the nearest Walmart and take all the money making time for Walmart and suspense to complete. Just weigh the fish and release. I like the hourly weigh in but also agree with Al. Lots of running and fuel usage for big tournaments.

O2 Levels
Jim, Thank you very much for your response. That was exactly what I was looking for. For a long time I have used my graph to find the thermocline and targeted fish at those lvls. I had always thought that just at or slightly above the thermocline held the best and most fish. I was just unable to find any documentation that stated that the very best O2 at that same lvl. I have looked at several report on the Oxygen Levels at local lakes for this month. I have graphed the Thermocline and the best lvls from the report pretty much match the thermocline. I guess to make it short. Would you think that on suppended fish that the DO is better where they are even though the thermocline is more than likely below them?? Or do you think that suppended fish are usually part of a double thermocline event?? Thanks for your response.

O2 Levels
Has anyone ever used Oxygen meters such as Temperature Plus Oxygen Meter from Cabelas? This device claims to show the DO from 0 to 16 ppm. If so I would like to know your experiences with this or any other DO finding device. Thanks a bunch

how often do you lie?
What if you told the guy the truth and he told 10 more and so on?? I would never do that but I have known a few that would. If to many people start asking the golf course to fish the ponds you can bet they would put a stop to anyone fishing at all. Especially with all those little round liability bullets flying. I am only speaking about my golf game :-)
