  1. I have one of the newer Fuegos and can confidently say the new spinning reels that Daiwa is putting out are the best in the business.
  2. If you spool your braid on tight it won't have any room to dig. I use 20lb on a baitcaster without much problem
  3. I'm fairly certain its a graphite frame. That's while I'll always go Daiwa because their $60 and up reels all have an aluminum body while Shimano makes you pay 200 bucks for a stradic before getting a reel made out of aluminum.
  4. why buy an expensive rod to watch a frog get bit
  5. If the drag is so important spend 10 bucks and put dry smooothdrag washers in them and your problem will be solved.
  6. If you are unsure, ask someone who is an experienced angler to fish it and see what they think. They will probably be able to tell if something isn't right.
  7. Agreed get a Tatula CT
  8. I agree, performance is the same however they upgraded the aesthetics by giving a handle nut and retainer. Also if I'm not mistaken it has a larger drag disc like that of the old zillion tws which is technically an upgrade. As far as palming, it does in fact feel much more compact and its definitely noticeable, a very good thing.
  9. I just put some 20lb 832 on my Tatula last night. You shouldn't have problems so long as you wind the line on VERY TIGHT. Like taking an old t-shirt or cloth and wrapping the line in it, then holding on tight while you reel on the line. Having a small diameter like that works wonders for casting distance so long as you know how to go about it properly.
  10. Make sure to wind the line on the reel with a lot of pressure in the first place. This reduces digging and prevents a lot of birds nests when casting.
  11. eBay has a money back guarantee policy so your money is safe. I buy there all the time and have never had one occasion to use this policy anyways.
  12. http://www.amazon.com/Boomerang-BTC203-The-Snip-Braid/dp/B016070OSE Take my word for it or just read the reviews. This is what you need.
  13. Go with that new curado 70 that shimano just released. Should palm super easily and you could get one new compared to a used E series. Plus many guys think the I series is better than the E.
  14. I would find something in the MH around 7-7'3" with a little bit of tip on it to work those senkos and flick the lipless cranks. The MH rating will provide the backbone you need for frogs and jigs.
  15. My point is that I'm sure the MH has indeed served you well. It is the key rod in the arsenal when your fishing around cover. That being it probably gets the most use and you want the best rod in your arsenal to be the one you use most.
  16. Personally I don't think you need such a nice rod. As far as the rod ratings go, I wouldn't have two nice medium action rods and a lesser medium heavy. I'd go with a nicer MH and M and then a lesser M rod. The MH is an important rod in the arsenal so having one thats quality counts.
  17. I just got some FX2 because it was super cheap and figured I'd try it. The stuff performs rock solid and is thinner than lots of brands for its rated strength. I feel like it has no problem tangling with the brush so if you're going like frogs or pitching I would definitely look into it.
  18. Looks basically the same to me, just with uglier colors haha. I'll just stick to my regular Type-R since the difference in width looks hardly noticeable... Oh who am I kidding, I'll probably try one out!
  19. Can anyone provide some insight yet???
  20. I am certain they weren't installed improperly. I guess the only logical thing to do is see how they are without grease.
  21. So I've installed the some smoothdrag washers in a couple of my high end reels, a Calcutta 200D and Zillion TWS. I installed them both with what I would consider a fairly light coat of Cals drag grease to all the washers. Afterwards I found that although the drag was smoother they both had noticeably weaker drag strength throughout the range of the drag and when I want the drag to have some strength to it I have to tighten it almost to lock down. Could anyone take a guess at what the problem might be?
  22. 13 reels are nice. 22lbs of drag that you can just lock down and they aren't designed to hold tons of line. So they spin real easy for flipping and got a big handle for cranking.
