  1. What kind of structure is in Grove? A guy told me there was a tree out in front of the first culvert, but I don't see where it would have come from. Any history on the lake? Is it man made by the city of G'town?
  2. Thanks for the response RoadWarrior. I've decided I need to throw some money at my fish catching problems: anyone selling a bass boat? I'm watching Craigslist, but haven't seen anything yet. Probably a fiberglass boat from the 90s is all I can afford.

  5. Finally caught a bass at Grove! Weighed about .4 lbs. Chartreuse spinnerbait and I was glad to catch it. In response to Roadwarrior's gear: you have a leader (which i never use bass fishing) that costs $50 for 200 yards. Could that be part of my problem out there, I'm throwing lures with 15lb Stren white braid? The line can easily be seen by the fish. How long is your leader? What type of knot do you do from the backer line? What is the backer line? Maybe spring fishing requires more finesse than I'm experienced giving, and why i'm not catching anything. I was killing it last fall, but this year has been rough. Thanks for any help, Brad
  6. Is it considered post spawn in the midsouth right now? I'm having the hardest time catching anything in the usual great spots. I did well at the Daycare pond 3 weeks ago on a buzzbait, lost maybe a 4lb'er at the bank cause I wasn't willing to get my shoes muddy; but overall it's been bad. I've barely even gotten a bite the 2 times I've went to Grove; I don't see how anyone catches anything there. I've been using big baits: buzz, spinner, and swim. Some texas rigged worms, and crawdad crankbaits. All kinds of colors. I switched to smaller lures and slower retrievals but that isn't working either. I never seem to do good when the water is high, and there has been a lot of rain lately too. Any help appreciated,
  7. @grizz88 the prison will kick you out of those ponds. Tried last summer. There is a pond north of the greenline. In the winter you can see it from the 240 interchange. It has good fishing but hard to get to. You can access it from the wolf river trails or take a truck in from Shelby drive and summer.
  8. Went to daycare pond today and caught a bass as big as my crankbait and then two cast later caught a 1.1 lb'er. I thought I was going to wear them out with the rapala crawdad but didn't get anymore bites. The pond looks good, from google maps it looked depressing.
