Well, the primary function of my light is what you said...knots and landing fish...BUT... i fish in places that are very near (if not in the middle of) urban areas so, with this thing of people finding bodies in ponds the light helps me see what is going on around me.

How is the shore access on Ponkapog?

Just spent 4 hours fishing Cochituate from the shore. The boat house was closed an the whole park was a desert for the exception of 3 or 4 cars parked with people inside drinking coffee. Caught nothing, I saw some bluegills and that was it. Then, me and my buddy went to Dug Pond, very limited shore access and we caught a small LMB. Finally, we went to Sudbury Reservoir and we caught a little Perch. A lot of casting, not a lot of fish. Is anyone intending to hit Cochituate this fall? They website says that it has a ton of fish but I didnt see anything. best

What kind and size of hooks do you use with them? best!

Hey guys, Im a shore fisherman that never got into jerkbaits. I got some crank, lipless, top water and the whole soft plastic madness. Now, I want to get into some jerkbaits. I know they are a world of its own but, what I actually need is some references because I dont have money to buy a big lot of them. So basically Im looking for 3 right now. 1 for top and possible the first 3 ft, and medium depth (between 2 and maybe 6 ) and one that goes deeper than 6. I never get access to deeper than lets say 12 ft. I would like to have some dark color options in that line. So, what do you guys suggest? best!

Man, Ill tell you... 1000 casts? Would make me cry. Im such a light weight. A fishing session (from the bank) usually lasts 4 hours to me. I walk a lot, change lures, walk some more, refill the water bottle... Maybe I get 600 casts in that time? I dont know, but what I do know is that after a focused session, Im SUPER tired. My arms wont kill me but they feel very heavy. Is that normal for you too?

Hey Tom, I thought the Smoke weighted around 3.5oz Where did I loose you on the math? I know man, my reel is big, what reels would you suggest for a rod between 3.5 and 4oz (probably around 7ft) I believe my budget would be 250

I know its not the lightest reel out there but this is what I have with me right now. I will upgrade the reel in the future. Any suggestion on the reel also?

Hey friends, Im looking for a new rod. I already have a Veritas 2.0 from A. Garcia. Mainly, I'm fishing from the bank so, I need a light rod so I can carry it all day. The Veritas I have is a medium, but for this new rod I would like a medium heavy. The price I'm targeting is less than $150, any recommendations?

Went to the Brookline Reservoir, nobody there! Got 3 small bass in 30 min, all of them with red lipless. The full moon might have helped.

Thanks brother! JP is a tough place to fish. I have been there so many times and spent so many hours fishing to produce so little. What kills it is the convenience factor. I live right next to it.

I was having that problem too, the solution for me was using braided line. its so sensitive that I can feel the smallest piece of weed. If you believe the problem is not that the fish is seeing the line, I would try some braid. Maybe braided with a fluorocarbon leader? thats what I use for frogs...

I'm coming home from a morning of fishing in Jamaica Pond. 5 hours or so and I caught only 1, good fish, around 5 ponds. Probably my new personal best for Bass
