  1. Yes Sir Fish Tax, I drove by that BP on Huffman Mill Rd. today and at 3.85/gal ethanol free is available. Thing is now got to get my boat back from shop getting an issue taken care of. Bout to go nuts setting around the house. Can only cut the grass but so many times in a week's time.
  2. Fish Tax this isn't related to the topic but I have a boat motor issue and am in search of an ethanol free BP gas in the Burling area. I also go to Macintosh as often as I can. Right now boat is at Rock Outdoors service. Won't be out on the water for about 2-3 weeks. Gon'a go nuts here at home!
  3. What part of Winston? In the high school years some 50 years ago I lived in Clemmons out toward Tanglewood. In Meadowbrook subdivision. Didn't do to much fishing but then again that is another story.
  4. Spent Sunday (4/21/24) on Jordan out of Ebenezer Church Ramp. Against my thinking but little rain! Just fished river end of Jordan last week so Middle (Main lake) seemed my next trip to Jordan. With T-rig 6" lizard w 3/16oz bullet weight boated 1@ 2.5# with a bloody tail in the back of Little Beaver Creek beyond the old roadbed, pretty shallow water but got there anyway. Anyway with a 3/8oz True South jig I ended up with total of 4 fish 'tween first fish at 2.5 on to 4th fish at 3#. Got stuck twice but got cleared to go then headed on to beyond 64 bridge. Zered rest of the day and got tired of the drizzling rain and left. Drying out the Stratos then come Wednesday either Randleman or Macintosh Lake.
  5. 75 yet hopefully still able to get up, hook-up the boat, and head to the lake here in Piedmont North Carolina.
  6. Minnkota steering cable broke just got boat back from Burris Marine and heading to Randleman in the morning, first time in two weeks Bassin'. Wish I could get a tip or two on what's working ?
  7. Thanks for your response. Ride the lake slowly searching for bait balls. I found info where a 5/16 oz, 3/8 oz jig along with a 5-1/2" Senko pitched wacky style working real slow.
  8. Planning to go to Lake Mackintosh in Burlington, NC Thursday. I've been told water temps in 50plus degree. Anyone with info what's good bait for catchin' Bass on the lake with 50* plus water?
  9. Sorry Guys its been so long since been in this chatroom didn't realize has asked for Help and got it earlier?
  10. Air temps at Just plain COLD. Setting 35*- 55* since early November and all the sudden just lost it for catching Bass, HELP! In the past I fished Jordan Lake when conditions reach this point but since Jordan is at a all-time low, that's out. Randleman Lake(when open), Macintosh Lake, Belews Creek Reservoir, Mayo Reservoir, and Buggs Island are lakes I travel to lately. Any tip for catchin' that could apply on Piedmont North Carolina Lakes?
  11. Sorry takes so long to reply. Start with I just started pitching and casting Jigs and honestly haven't been on Macintosh in maybe a year. Now the pattern I was on when catching fish last trip was pitching the edges of rip rap in I guess 10 to 15 foot of water and moving the jig very slowly. As far as the water temps were in the low 60*. At first I got hung up several times but soon found that edge where The Big Girls set. Temps this Sunday predicted 60*+ so I hope to return.
  12. Haven't been to Harris in I don't remember but heading there in the morning. It's late but sure would like a little help, PLEASE!
  13. Fish Tax, just fished MacIntosh yesterday. For the first 3 hours, 7:00am to around 10:00am "0"ed. Then to an "Old fishing spot" and in 1 hour I guess I boated 15 pounds. I guess best day on "The Mac" in don't know when!
  14. Had boat & trailer in the shop for serious service for past 5 weeks and just picked it up last Friday. Only been to Jordan Lake and managed 1 bass that wasn't much bigger than the jig I was using for tackle. With the temps less than 50* planning to head out to nearest, what is called "Hot Water" lake. Belew's Creek near Stokesdale, NC My question is has anyone here have any tip I might find helpful to break this bad luck I have had Bass' in ?
  15. I know it is to late for fishing this year, but Randleman Lake has been a productive lake for me. Thing is it closes after the 31 of Oct. and reopens on March 1,2024. Now the launch fee is $15. For me living in the McLeansville area traveling to almost any other lake in the state I spend $15.00 in gas at least traveling to any of those lakes.
  16. In these warmer days on the water, I've always had a problem with the Bass Feast Smelly Jelly fish attractant becoming way too runny from the consistency of thick jell. My inquiry here is does anyone have a idea what I can add to this smelly Jelly Bass Feast to combat the warmer temps and its effect on the attractant? Thanks
  17. Guys this stuff really gets thin once it spends a short time in the warmer temps, over 80*. Now when I return the Smelly Jelly to a little cooler temp, lower than 70* the consistence seems to get back in the viscosity of thick Vaseline. With the idea of adding corn starch I am thinking about the spoilage issue if not refrigerated. Now I just found some unscented real thick consistent molding paraffin. With a heat gun was able to melt this stuff and mix it with the attractant and am letting it cool down and then check the consistent. Hop this works.
  18. Not sure if this would be the right place to ask this important inquiry so PLEASE bare with me I am desperate to find an answer. I have several 4oz jars of the fish scent attractant SMELLY JELLY Bass Feast that when NOT exposed to the heat of a 80*-90* or greater day the consistency is that of petroleum jelly. Now when this scent attractant IS exposed to the normal heat of a 80*-90* + day the consistency really changes from a thick paste to more of a thick liquid form. I'd appreciate any ideas for adding something to this SMELLY JELLY Bass Feast fish scent to help keep the consistency at a thick paste.

  20. Not unless no Politics or Religion spoken in a chatroom.
  21. As usual I always go to the ICRBE just to look around an see what is new in the hobby of custom rod building and end up getting components for a new rod build. Now its a good time to stock up on items for those unexpected needed repairs during the year.
  22. In 10 days from February 13, 2019 in Winston-Salem, NC at the Benton Convention Center. February 22-23, 2020. Great place to stock up for the upcoming year of custom rod building and those necessary rod repairs. i look forward to seeing those new items for 2020 and reunite with some old friends and trade new building techniques and ideas.
  23. I guess I jumped the gun a bit. Thought I was going to have to replace my onboard charger but nope not yet. Got new Everstart 29DC's hooked-em up and all is going good. That makes 2 yrs 9 months, April 12, 2017 - January 17,2020 for my MinnKota 345PC. Guess that's that for the time being, at least till the MinnKota gives up the ghost! At least now I have some good information from you guys on what chargers to choose from, Thanks all.
  24. So who's doing what? Out last week on Jordan Lake near Pittsboro, NC just as colder temps hit North Carolina to catch some good Bass. Now temps have nose dove to the lower 30* so question is who's fishin' or who's huntin'?
  25. Thanks Guys. Thanks for the reviews on chargers and as I figured you get what you pay for when it comes to chargers. I finally completed my checks and diagnosing my present MK345 to find all appears to be OK and all working correctly. As I thought with the near freezing temps here in NC these past two days the batteries won't take a charge as fast making me think the temp sensor was going bad. I did replace the TM batteries since I have had them for over 6 years so now just ratchet strap the batteries down and off to the lake I go.
