  1. Randleman doesn't have an electric side. I think you're talking about Macintyre Oh Randleman Lake does have a No gas areas. It is accessed from Guilford County off Jonquill Dr and Groometown Rd. Biggest Bass I have caught was from that area. Oh Randleman Lake does have a No gas areas. It is accessed from Guilford County off Jonquill Dr and Groometown Rd. 2. I use to rig the bait T rig also but always had the problem of the bait spinning as reeled in so went with rigging the bait on a screw lock 3/16 jig head. That works good no spinning bait. I also rig the bait backwards to the norm with the auger tails in the end as reeled in. I also tip those ends with chartreuse dye.
  3. well, I wasn't able to make the trip due to an issue with the tow vehicle. Truck is in the shop so guess I'll just have to postpone fishing for a few days to anywhere.
  4. Was going this morning, 4/30/25, but that bed slept good. Seriously thinking in the morning . I Hate Bassin' alone so any interested fisherman I usually get to the Randleman Lake gate right early, around 5:00am. Gives me time to ready to get the Stratos ready for fishing. I'm in a dark green Ford F-150 pulling a white with green Stratos accents with 2 power poles and a 175 Mercury outboard. Shoot me an email for contact cell #or just meet me at the lake. I'll be there early hopefully 5.00am.
  5. Expecting to make the trip back to Mayo in the morning. Like to know if the Bass have moved up from deeper water? Maybe some direction as to where and when of the lake.
  6. IYOYAS, got a little tip get A couple packs of Yamamoto Kreature Baits color watermelon/gold flake and rig the bait on a 3/16oz screw lock jig head. Important thing to do is rig the bait backwards. That is run the hook through the skirted end of the bait toward the Auger tails of the bait. I went to Randleman Lake today, 4/12/2025, Threw this bait just inside the opening of not very large cuts off the main lake. Today I boated throwing a Senko 3 at around 3-4#s. Also, I've had some luck throwing a watermelon Blk Flake Senko wacky style on those banks where a straw grass field comes right down to the water. Good Luck
  7. In 3 day fished Randleman then Mayo Res. and boated a 7.5#er at Randleman then a 7#er at Mayo Res. Didn't get another bite of any kind except those two. Got to go back to Randleman and follow up.
  8. KHNC I'm envious of you close enough to fish Lake Murray and even Lake Wateree. I grew up in Columbia and when there I never fished Murray but did my share of partying in the Deal's Marina area. That said I fish Randleman often although lately it's not been good to me. I've caught one 7.5# a week ago before the air temps hit 80+ on a natural jig made by True South Baits but for me the bite has been a bit tough. If you're up here anytime soon give me a shout out maybe we could partner up.
  9. Looks as though air temps heading to middle 50* Friday. Might not be there blood early but sure going to try. Last trip botted a 7 pounder like to repeat at the near same spot or area. As of now fishing solo but wouldn't mind having a co-angler so if interested email me at speadtrap@bellsouth.net shoot me a call or. I live about 30 minuets from Randleman Lake and plan to leave for lake 45 to 50 minutes before 6:00am so to get 10 gallons of gas at BP for boat. Hope to get to lake gate before 6am so shoot me a call at 336 339-0344 Prior to 10:00pm on March 6, 2025.
  10. I Got to hit the water. With air temps reaching high 60* got to go! Not exactly knowing where but going! Seriously considering Mayo Reservoir near Roxboro, N C. Leaving home near McLeansville/Gibsonville, NC area around 5:00am'ish. Like to find a co-angler for the area who might be interested in joining me on Mayo for a day of Bassin'. E-mail me at speadtrap@bellsouth.net of just give me a call at 336 339-0344. I plan to reach Mayo near first light an leave the lake around noon, unless start catchin' Bass.
  11. Well, guess I'm out of commission for maybe 4-5 days as far as fishing goes. Friday, While at Belew's creek I got some discarded fishing line wrapped around the propshaft of my trolling motor. Unfortunately the line cut the seal of the trolling motor drive motor. Unable to fix it I had to take everything to Burris Marine Minnkota trolling motor Service center near New London, NC and Baden Lake. Guess timing is everything weather is not the best for me now.
  12. FishTax, Yes sir I'm retired so I'm able to get to the water just about anytime right now but with the temp in the 20s to 30 degress sometimes have just started to make that trip. Again when you are able to get out to a lake do let me know via my email: speadtrap@bellsouth a few day prior. I do try not to make a lake on a weekend due to the boat traffic but have gone anyway. I do go to Macintosh often but when I went to Belews this last trip I found a few Big Girls in a couple areas and am going to return there probably Thursday at first light and maybe stay till 1 or 2 .
  13. February 6 & 7, 2025 planning to return to Belew's Creek Reservoir to hopefully return the catching as I did on the 4th. Boated 3 Bass @ 3lbs before the 31* and slight breeze got the best of me. Lookin' for a co-angler interested in meeting up at Belew's Crk. If interested email me at: speadtrap@bellsouth.net for details on meeting up at or near Belew's Crk.
  14. Living in Greensboro and just 20 minuets from the nearest body of water. Now when the air temps drop below the mid 40* it's tough but Lake Mackintosh and the same for Randleman Lake near Level Cross are my go-to lakes close by. Although Randleman is closed this time of year Macintosh is the go-to lake this time of year with a sprinkling of Belew's Creek up near Stokesdale NC. Now the goal is to catch Bass. Maybe some time or another might run into you guys, Fish Tax and Pat Brown. At any rate a tip to what bait I've had most luck with a watermelon/blk flake Senko rigged wacky style and a natural colored watermelon1/2oz jig with a touch of orange. I've pitched these baits primarily everywhere in every lake, Macintosh, Badin, Belew's Creek, Mayo Res., Jordan Lake, and at times even Hyco just North of Roxboro, NC.
  15. Boat been in shop for a few months. Considering going to Mayo on the 9th of July. Any info available PLEASE!
  16. How is the water level? I use to visit Camden, SC often and fish Wateree but live in Greensboro, NC and haven't been to Wateree in a Long time.
  17. Sorry to take so long to answer your post. I also had the spinning bait syndrome. I went with a small jig called a "Secret Lure". The jig is a 3/16 oz on a 4/0 hook. The weight has a groove that seems to aid in standing the bait up on the bottom. Go to Secret Lures online to get info if interested.
  18. KP, I've rigged this bait, from what I see from the Yamamoto website, backward. With the 3/16 oz extra wide gap hook jighead I run the hook through the skirted end of the bait with the augertails at the end of the bait. the color I use is watermelon black flake. This bait is for me "My go to bait", that really produces some big Bass.
  19. I've been using the Yamamoto Kreature Bait for many years with great success. I ask of those who use this bait rig it? Originally I rigged it T-rig with a 3/16oz weight on a 4/o extra wide gap hook but had a poblem with spinning when reeled in so changed to a 3/16 oz jig head iwith a 4/o hook. How do you guys and or gals fish this particular bait.
  20. Thanks Guys. I have been using Rock Outdoors in Lexington, NC that was recommended to me by a Pro Fisherman. He told me Brad Ayers is one of the best Mercury Techs in NC.
  21. A-jay is that 4 oz per 10 gal 2 oz of each Quicksilver products, 2 oz of Quicklen and 2 oz of Quickcares?
  22. Thanks guys for you responding to this topic. I also thought using the Quickcare & Quickleen additives wouldn't hurt anything if anything it would help a little. These products are for the fuel system components, injectors, fuel lines, spark plugs, ect. I had thought about adding Sta-Bil fuel treatment but reading the label to state that it treats ethanol gas so staed ading the Quicksilver products.
  23. I just changed over to using ethanol-free gasoline in my Mercury Pro XS 175. Question is, should I keep adding the prescribed amounts of Quicksilver Quickcare and Quickleen per 10 gallons of gasoline? I believe the Quicksiver products are for treating the fuel system components where products like Sta-Bil treat ethanol gasoline.
  24. I have a 2013 Mercury 175 ProXS outboard. I haven't used Ethanol-free gas in the past in this motor but have been adding the prescribed amounts of Quicksilver Quickleen & Quickare fuel additives since day one of having this motor. I have only used to this day BP/Amoco 87 octane. Also when fueling up for a day on the lake usually only add 10 gallons of 87 oct. unless planning to run more on the water than initially planned. That said I sure would like to receive a bit of feedback on whether or not to burn ethanol-free gas in my Mercury. Presently BP only has ethanol-free gas in their Silver Grade of gas and I only have seen 89 octane.
  25. Hope I'm at a correct place to find this information? If not PLEASE direct me to correct one. I'm searching the Piedmont portion of North Carolina for a very good knowledgeable Mercury Outboard mechanic/technician! I'm in the Greensboro, NC area and presently when service work needed on my Mercury outboard I take it to Rock Outdoors. Looking for a Mercury outboard tech closer to Greensboro.
