Battery charging question
Thank you fellas. I don't have much season left and these batteries are pretty crappy. I use them pretty hard for a few years and they were the cheapest Walmart batteries. I'll just wait till spring and get new batteries and a two bank charger.

Battery charging question
My trolling motor is 24v so I have the batteries wired in series. My charger is a small 12v charger so in ordered to charge the batteries with the single charger I take the motor wires off, add another jumper, and wire it parralell. I put one charger lead the on corresponding terminal on one battered and one lead on the corresponding terminal of the other battery so it will chare the entire circuit. I would like to avoid having to re-wire every time I charge. Can I wire in series with the trolling motor wired but also hook up each 12v charger to each battery and charge them? If I keep the Chargers and everything wired then all I have to do is plug in the Chargers. Ths would be much more convenient. I assume this is how a 2 bank charger is wired but before I go and fry things I wanted to get some opinions from folks who might know better.

Best line for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits?
I've been happy with 15lb seagar in the red box. I fished with it all summer and gave it little thought. When I Restrung the the setup with 14lb trilene xt, which was my go to line for many years, I was surprised. I was able to feel the bait vibrating much better with the seagar. It took me a little while to figure it out. Coincidence maybe but I've had more fish shake the hook since switch too.

Cali?
Thank you for the suggestions. I'd prefer 2 or 3 seasons really. I'm tired of the freezing cold and snow and would to skip that part of the year. I would forgo any changing of seasons for that opportunity. I visited freinds in San Fransico and then stayed in Monterey for a week a few years ago. We took a wine tour around salinas valley. I had no interest in the vino but I did find the area quite attractive. Our tour guide kept me entertained with farming information while the others drank the punch. It was quite interesting. I failed to ask him about hunting and fishing opportunity there.

Cali?
I'd come back for the contest weekend. And to visit my cottage in summertime. I'm only considering the option also. Lots of things would have to fall into place. I like to know all the angles well in advance.

Cali?
I know it's a big state. Where might a fella locate himself and be satisfied with the bass fishing, turkey hunting, and coyote hunting while enjoying the favorable moderate climate? I'd prefer no poison leg less slitherers. I know many folks are raising a brow wondering why a fella, like myself, would consider California a place to hang his hat. I can only offer that I live in NY so it's not to far off. I would call it fair trade if my holy trinity of happiness were met with the added bonus of not freezing my balls off while shoveling the 3 feet of heart attack dust off the driveway. With turkey season 4 months gone, bass fishing screaming to an end, and all 2 weeks of summer in the rear view a fella is considering his options.

Spinner Baits and Blade Types
The more you fish A spinner bait the more you will understands it's subtle nuances. You have to put the time in though. I think what helps most is understanding the attributes of the blades. Willow leaf will fish deeper ran at the same speed as Colorado. (Surface area of the blade being alike that is). Willow leaf flashes more and vibrates less than Colorado. (Again comparing like surface areas.). match your blade to the situation you think will cause the fish to bite. Example like using a Colorado blade in dirty water because it will help the fish find it under the poor visibility. The variations of these blades are combinations of each. I pretty much stick to these two options though. I select color based on the situation and what I think will make them bite it. Match the bait? Water clarity? Sunny or cloudy? Deep or shallow? I rarely use anything but silver blades but gold is my other option. Color of the skirt fits into these same requirements. In the end I think this stuff is only a small part of catching fish on a spinner bait. More important is where you cast it and how you retrieve it. I find it much more effective in heavy cover than in open water. Especially when that water is clear. I pretty much only fish a spinner bait in clear open water when the fish a busting schools or shad. I use white with a silver willow blade in this case (too me it is the original a -rig). It comes back to the boat pretty fast then too.

Measure or Weigh?
It's about my personal knowledge juding my fish against my fish on that body of water and in that area. I'm not comparing my fish to someone else's. I'm not worried so much if my method is accurate but rather how consistent.
-
Measure or Weigh?
I like to measure and weigh the fish I feel are significant. Other than that I guess. It's out of curiosity really. I like to guess the weight then weigh them to challenge my perceptions. Then I take a quick measurement.

To buff or not to buff
They look kinda warm. Are they? Are they uncomfortable fitting?

Worst Fishing Etiquette You've Encountered?
Pops and I were fishing down a bank. We came around a corner and another was fishing the bank opposite side of the river. The fella cut across the river and proceeded to cut us off. I laughed, no big deal. I cut across the river and we started to fish that side. The fella then cut across the river and cut us off again. I was aggravated a little but just went back to the side we were originally were fishing. The funny part is, he fired it up and stormed off upset about the ordeal. I'm still scratching my head on that one.

Got Bassmasters to autograph my Rod!
https://www.amazon.com/Stick-Fast-Cyanoacrylate-Adhesive-Bottle/dp/B009356B92/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471742601&sr=8-1&keywords=Stickfast+ca If you soak a q-tip and quickly and carefully dab it on you will avoid some mess. The trick it to not wipe it and not try to cover it all at once. It dries so fast it will smoke. Try to keep the smoke out of your eyes and nose because it's like a onion on steroids. This also means you will use several q-tips to cover the signature. Keep the q-tip wet and work quick and careful. Maybe practice on something else a few times to get the feel for it. i use this stuff to cover my signature on wood turnings. I have used it on no pours surfaces like corian with success. This stuff is on the brittle side so if your planning to use the rod you may want to consider something else. There are flexible CA glues out there but I have not used them. If your not going to use the rod maybe covering them to preserve isn't the best coarse of action anyway. I would build a box with a glass top and hang it on the wall.

Got Bassmasters to autograph my Rod!
CA glue might be good. It dries quick and clear. If your going to use the rod than you may want to get some flexible CA glue.

Dear Bassmaster
For a fella who can't do cable.... I love to watch your tournament coverage. Mr. Sanders and Mr. Zonas commentary is great and the fellas fishing are phenomenal. Oh yeah, that Mercer fella is tolerable too. I am grateful for your internet videos that currently are posted. At the risk of sounding ungrateful, if possible could the videos be uploaded sooner after normal scheduled coverage? I would gladly relinquish the ability to fast forward advertisements for the opportunity to view the videos sooner. I understand folks are paying for your product. I can justify a nominal fee for the ability to view your videos sooner. However, I can not justify the cost of cable solely for the privilege to watch your tournaments. Your fan, Rick

Trolling motor assist
Thank you fellas.

Trolling motor assist
my back is about as bad as they come. Pulling the trolling motor and letting it down is a killer. Are there any aftermarket lift assist Pistons for a min kota edge? I like everything about this motor except for the back wrenching it takes to deploy.

HELP! Am I terrible at fishing? Or is it my location?
Tackle and bait are tools. Each tool has qualities for catching fish where the fish are located. Where the fish are located depends on biology and time of year. bone up on bass biology and seasonal trends. Then take a look at the body of water to locate the conditions that fit the biology and/or seasonal trend. Once you have a grasp on those things finding the fish will be easier. Then it becomes about tackle and technique. Least this his is how I perceive things. I still have a day job that doesn't include fishing though lol. Side note: this is what impresses me about folks who do fish for a living. They are quick to learn a body of water and find those fishes.

Fell out of the boat?
Pops rolled us in a row boat while retrieving his lure from a tree. Saved the $8.50 lure... Killed $1000 in cell phones. Rods and tackle boxes were safe as the boat did not totally capsize. Just enough to end up in the water.

Weakest Fighting Fish?
I suppose the pickerel can be an exception to my statement on occasion. The small ones give up quick and the large ones give up quick. I was more considering the northern pike and walleye. Even perch tend to hit hard then lay back for the ride to the boat. LMB are atop my list for less fight. They are still my favorite fish to catch. I'm not so much in it for the muscle match. I just like to know that I found them and fooled them. I live in a part of the country where smal lies are King but I would be content catching only LMB. That style o fishing is what I like best.

Most Interesting Fight
I Had a pike grab a small bass while I fought it. We sat and watched the pike hold that bass sideways for a bit. It let go and I boated the bass. A keeper size bass that went from having a bad day-to the worste possible day- to freedom in short time.

Weakest Fighting Fish?
Pound for pound on average I think the pike species fight the least. One maybe 2 good run and they are spent. Those toothy snot rockets are sprinters for 3 seconds then you winch them to the boat. At that point they might give you a do over or they might just let you take the hook out.

I wish...
Indeed. It's half the reason I fish. I forget the camera for this very reason.

I wish...
That sounds about par for me.

OK, So I'm a Jerk...
Ah yes, I too can't help myself at times. My work schedule is irregular. I'm often fishing when many are on their way to work. I fish a bridge that many of them cross to get to work. I see the, staring (dreaming mostly) as they drive past. Catching a fish for them to see is nice. Honks appreciated.
