  1. I may go with an OTF or OTS auto, they are legal to carry in our state at the moment, want to get one before anyone has a chance to change their mind.
  2. I use a lot of the Rage Menace on the shakey head, not sure it is a craw, but it imitates one well, the other bait I use a lot of are the Net Bait baby paca craw.
  3. I use a lot of Sunline Supernatural, very affordable and super usable. If you want what I consider the best then that would be Sunline Defier Armilo, not cheap but a line that you can feel the difference in quality when you take it off the spool.
  4. Poured some using the lil nasty 500 hooks from eagle claw as suggested. What is a good price for a thousand of the these, or a good place to purchase them. I should have the new midwest mold this week, and also hope to get the poison wobble head as well.
  5. These are some traits of a Narcissistic personality disorder. Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance Expecting to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it Exaggerating your achievements and talents Being preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate Believing that you are superior and can only be understood by or associate with equally special people Requiring constant admiration Having a sense of entitlement Expecting special favors and unquestioning compliance with your expectations Taking advantage of others to get what you want Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others Being envious of others and believing others *** you Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner Sounds like a lot of the bass fishermen I know.
  6. The one thing that I don't understand about their new rods is that they had the chance to make some nice changes that would have taken just a little effort and did not do it. My biggest complaint is that they left about 27 threads on their lock down, trim some of that crap off, I don't enjoy having to rest my fingers on the extra threads.
  7. I'm sure that these would do everything I need, I just have the opportunity to get a high quality knife and have a want worm, not much different than how we select rods and reels.
  8. I fished them almost exclusively for quite a while, I still own several Cara models that I enjoy. One thing about a Falcon rod is that you really need the opportunity to handle the rod, they tend to have their own power and action ratings more so than most other rods. I would put the Cara's ability to transmit vibration is the same class as the Dobyn's Champion, and St. Croix Avid, build quality is good and sometimes great, components are good but not great and they have a very good warranty, easy to deal with in most situations. Their upper end rods are made in Broken Arrow, OK, just a little east of Tulsa
  9. Appreciate the advice, right now I have a couple brands that I am going to check into a little more, Spyderco. and Zero Tolerance, both have a couple of knives that interest me. Anyone know of a good online dealer?
  10. I appreciate all of the suggestions, I would like to hear about some of the high end knives that you guys own. I have decided that I would like to buy something very nice.
  11. Been looking at the para military II but not sure that it's size is what I am looking for in an EDC Chive and Scallion are a couple I have looked at, the Ken Onion series all look to be good.
  12. Nothing wrong with your suggestion. Not exactly what I was thinking but I do appreciate the response.
  13. Need a good everyday carry pocket knife. I had the Kershaw Blackout for quite a while and liked it just fine, nothing special about it I guess. I would like to keep the budget around 100 dollars or less if that will buy a good quality knife. Let me know what you use and why you like it.
  14. No doubt about it, good help is hard to find, but then again so are good loyal customers.
  15. How did they gain confidence in those presentations?
  16. I certainly feel for those that will be facing career changes. I do also hope that if the positions are replaced that the hiring managers do a better job of finding people who at least know a bit about the department that they are assigned to. It seems to be more and more that finding a knowledgeable sales team member is like finding a needle in the haystack.
  17. I fish them on a 1/4 shakey head that I pour with an aggressive screw lock. Works fantastic in the rocks and rip rap. I was using the Mustad Ultra point screw lock shakey heads but the keeper was not aggressive enough and kept pulling a small plug of plastic from the middle of the bait.
  18. Unfortunately I can tell you how the new Gloomis warranty works. There is no longer a wild card program, what they have now is called the expediter service and their usual life time warranty. If you think the rod broke because of material failure you can send it in to be evaluated under the life time warranty and replaced or repaired at no cost if found to broken due to materials or workmanship. The second option is to pay either 75 or 100 dollar fee depending on rod type and have it replaced no questions asked. If they no longer make the model you have, they will replace it with what they feel is the closest match. Broke the tip on a GLX not so long ago, while Gloomis was very polite and easy to work with, my personal opinion is that St. Croix's warranty service is the best in the business.
  19. What was the logic behind it being a good thing? I have used them both ways without noticing any difference.
  20. Yes they did. They measured the total amount of stretch at breaking strength. Not a very valuable measurement as it tells you nothing about yield strength which is what a person really wants to know. I don't think most care how much their line stretches once it reaches it's breaking strength, I hope mine stretches a mile. If you want a good measurement of line you first need to determine it's yield strength and then measure stretch proportional to this value. Most of us in general use never exceed 70% of a lines yield strength during normal fishing, (Tom's simple test kind of proves this) so the real value is knowing how much stretch is occurring in the line before it reaches it's yield strength. All lines do not stretch in a parabolic curve, it's easy to understand that a braided line would have a different curve than a nylon mono-filament. The same is true for co-polymer lines because of the different monomers used to create them. Fluorocarbon lines are much the same, it's easy to see that they are not all the same. Is the earth flat or or round, depends on who's opinion you were around to listen to.
  21. Not sure how this measures yield strength or stretch, but if it meets your needs so be it.
  22. It is an interesting statement, but not sure what it means. Care to expand on your opinion.
  23. If you want to use it for both techniques many recommend the NRX 842S SJR, nice rod, my fishing partner uses it. I use the NRX 822S SYR and it does the job for me. Before you purchase an NRX I would definitely take a look at the new St.Croix Elites. I have the ES610MLXF and it is super nice, a little less money and it performs very very well. The St. Croix gives up just a touch of sensitivity in my hands to the NRX but certainly nothing that would cause you to miss fish.
  24. Gary Klein carried a Zebco 33 in his boat during the 2014 Bassmaster Classic. He said he was going to make a few casts with it. Never heard if he did or not, but felt like it was a very cool gesture. Seems like most anglers all have one version or another of a Zebco reel in their history.
  25. I wonder if Gobies would thrive in KS.......
