Darren, thanks for the thorough response, I’ll look in to those areas. I should also mention I’m coming from Indy to Hampton on 64 so any areas along that route will be ideal. Thanks

Gotta question about river fishing in a kayak. When you are fishing by yourself or with others. Are you fishing up and down where you put in or are you floating down to another landing, ok, maybe 2 questions.

I think it tracks great, the front does wander left to right but only when you paddle hard and seems to turn fine

I may not be much help but I chose the ATAK 120, I had no experience with kayaks prior to the purchase. I've had mine on lakes and the local rivers for fishing & family kayaking runs. The only thing I don't like which isn't specific to the WS is the scupper holes, just don't like the little bit of water that comes in so I ordered additional plugs to stop this. Seems to handle fine, very stable. If you have specific questions I can try to answer.

Oh Yeah, me and Uncle Ned are real close, I'll give it a whirl on the river next time out. I don't do much on the reservoirs mostly the local ponds. I'll look you up at Cabelas , do they know you as oddchase.saw that drowning in the news, never heard how it happened.

Atak 120
Ah, gotcha. Yeah even the Jackson Kilroy I bought my wife has rod tubes on the sides. I do scratch my head a little when it comes to storing the rods but I'll just add something.

Atak 120
Yes, that's correct. The motor is called Helix, it's a lithium battery powered motor, looks cool but I don't know anything about it. I bought my wife that Jackson Kilroy used for less than 1/2 the price of new, supposedly only floated 3 times, looked brand new, not a scrape on it. What's the rod stagger you mentioned?

Atak 120
I can't be a lot of help but I chose the atak 120 due to stability. I've had it in a few creeks/rivers and a couple lakes. The one river had a few places that were moving fast with ripples. Handled it like a big 1970 Cadillac, only thing I'm not 100% fond of is the scupper holes. In choppy water you will get some water splashing up in the boat. It's very stable, turns well, you can stand it it easily. I've never paddled back up a creek but I think that may be a lot of work. Hope this helps

Thanks & No. I'm guessing 4 - 4-1/2, possibly 5. Not being sarcastic but only bragging on our pond fishing, 4 - 5 pounders are real common where I fish, my biggest is 6 lbs so if it's not at least that big I don't weigh them.
