  1. Hit some local ponds throughout the day, caught a couple dozen of these things. Most of them on the icon
  2. Very nice, I have the Deeper Bobber I'm gonna mount and see how that works on the yak. I put a piece of pipe insulation on the top seat bar to soften it up. Had it on eagle creek today, didn't catch anything but had the wife with me and she was more interested in paddling than watching me fish. Educate me on the rod along side the boat, is that for stabilizing it.
  3. Got it, thanks. Been doing the maps thing but it's hard to tell exactly what the rivers look like.
  4. Csn you be a little specific on other locations, I'm new to kayak fishing and looking at all my options, thanks
  5. Picked up this gem on Friday, I'll float her for the first time tomorrow. Gonna do a little river trip.
  6. Thanks Brian, I'm getting her wet tomorrow, gonna float a river with some family, probably above Geist
  7. Lol, actually got a good CL deal on the pink one so the second bite didn't break the skin
  8. Bit the bullet today
  9. Ok, thanks, I'll look into them. Just got back from Boones pond, first time fishing in a kayak, had a great time caught 3 dinks. sorry about your rod. I hear taps in the background
  10. Hello, been a while since I posted but I've been watching/reading the posts. Been wearing out the local ponds the last couple years and I've decided to get a kayak, I've already decided on an ATAK 120, preferably used over new but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Looking for some suggestions on where to fish with the yak, thanks.
  11. I fish our local ponds and was struggling with my normal lures then I started throwing a few different vibrax lures and everything turned around. Just a thought
  12. Had a great day, fished 4 out of our 7 ponds today with a total of 14 catches. Most were 3.5 - 4.5 pounders. Tried a little of everything but Uncle Ned with the same Hula StickZ was the only thing I could get them to bite on. Used a faster retrieve than normal with very little dead sticking.
  13. Used my LTB lure I received this month for the first time today, first cast slammed it. Made me happy, roughly 3 pounds, didn't weight this one.
  14. Ah, I must have looks at it to quick. Nice size though.
  15. Great job, that's a huge crappie
  16. Had a good afternoon today, 2 fatty's just over 4 pounds & 3 under 4 pounds. Uncle Ned with a Hula StickZ.
  17. Like others have said, Eagle Creek Park. I have been to Lilly Lake within the park but not the reservoir itself. There is Boones Pond in Boone County just off I-65, good for non gas boating, not sure how the fishing is, I didn't catch anything. If anyone has been there please chime in. There is a nice bank fishing pond open to the public in Carmel and I have access to a couple private subdivision ponds in Westfield that have turned out descent fish. PM me if interested in private ponds and I can get you in on occasion.
  18. FYI, I have a couple rods listed in the flea market forum for local purchase only if anyone is interested. Would be a good way to meet some locals.
  19. Been out a few times over the last several days and had ok results. Yesterday I hit a couple local ponds, one skunked me and the other with is our subdivision pond honored me with this roughly 3 pounder on my first cast. Bought a new AVID X - ML-XF so it was rewarding getting a fish on a new rod with the first cast. Used Uncle Ned with a PB&J TRD.
  20. Guess I jynxed myself, what weight bass does it take to break a shroomz jig, guess I'll never know because as I grabbed the line to lift it from the water the d**n shroomz broke plus I had 2 straighten out, I am seriously disappointed.
  21. Thanks for the feedback, I've read some articles that suggest the same thing. N-NW and I've been focusing on the calmer less windy areas as well. I've only been bass fishing for 6 months and I'm having a great time learning.
  22. Do you find they tend to go one certain direction ie: N, S, E or W
  23. Pretty much the same here, went out around 4:30 for about an hour came up with these 2. Shroomz with a RT Baby Craw and Shroomz with cut down ZinkerZ.
  24. I bought the Browning front load tackle bag because I prefer my 3700's to lay flat and I can use the top to hold what I'm fish with at that time. Holds 5 in the front and a couple on top. Side compartments could be a little more versitle but I'm very satisfied.
  25. I've been using them as well, no issues yet. Contact Z-Man or they may chime in on here.
