  1. Going out tomorrow and going to play it like it's still mid fall. After 4 days of above average temps they should be a little shallower and more willing to bite.
  2. Lots of finess baits. I have a lot of the same around me and wacky rigged/shaky head is the way to go. Have had some luck with spinner baits also.
  3. Will be going Xmas eve, 65 degrees in December in SW. PA. is too good to pass up.
  4. I live in SW. PA and was just thinking the same thing fishballer.
  5. Sorry bassbass, I think you may have misunderstood....all that was left is what most people see as a right handed (reel handle on the right side of reel), but I agree with mlbassyaker....always had reel knob in left hand and rod in right hand.....can't imagine why a right handed angler wouldn't want their pole in their right hand without having to switch after casting.
  6. New to the baitcasting scene and started out with a Abu Garcia Black Max and while I really like it I started to wonder why the standard for baitcasting reels is for them to be left handed. This seems counterintuitive seeing as how the majority of anglers (and humans in general) are right handed. I don't think anyone needs their right hand to power your bass in especially since your rod (in your weaker left hand) is doing the heavy lifting. Not to mention I always hear pro's say never not be ready to set the hook and it would seem like the time it takes to switch from your right hand casting to reeling with the right hand would be a prime time to miss a quick bite on the fall of the bait. If anyone could explain this I would appreciate it.
  7. Caught a pickerel with my bare hand because I'm just that manly! No, but I did see something thrashing in the water while fishing a lake in Massachusetts. After investigating what it was I found a small (18" maybe?) pickerel who was choking on a bluegill that happened to be just a little bit bigger than it could handle. It was so exhausted that I was able to paddle my kayak right up to it and scoop it up with my bare hand. Took needle nose pliers to crush up and remove the bluegill and released the pickerel after about a min of letting him chill in the water.
  8. Green pumpkin T rigged is probably my second favorite soft bait besides the senko wacky rigged. Make sure you're using a big enough hook? Kinda a chunky bait.
