  2. Parkland or more north? Gunna get the boat out there next week sometime.. also looking to go to Fellsmere reservoir. They just built a boat ramp there and ive heard they have been catchin 10 pounders!!
  3. Thanks for the tips ill try them out this weekend!
  4. Well I recently bought a nitro bass boat and figured I would go up into holiday park a few times and catch some fish. The only problem is the only thing im catching is a sunburn. Ive been throwing crankbaits, Senkos, Frogs, Gambler big EZ, whopper plopper, and Spinner baits.. fished the main canals a bit before I went up into the flats. I dont even see bait fish or minnows up in the flats.. theres no alligators or anything. I dont get it. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
  5. Went out to Browns Farm yesterday.. only threw 1 bait the entire time... A hollow body live target frog. Was getting hits everywhere. I was using 50lb power pro and throwing it over and through the sawgrass and in some spots that had a break in the grass. Caught a nice one around 745pm weighed it on the scale thought it was bigger but ended up only being 3.8. Nice place to use a frog can throw swimbait also. My girlfriend was catching them left and right with a fluke. Good luck happy fishing.
  6. cheater... lol jk.. throw a senko way out and work it back in
  7. Don't get discouraged if you don't find any fish in Ft. Lauderdale.. i live in downtown off Marina Mile.. i drive out west to do my fishing.. Weston area.. west Sunrise also.. use google earth it is a big help.. good luck and happy fishing
  8. Wolf Lake Park is in Davie.. and the fishing there is horrible i do not recommend going there.. i went there recently and i didn't even see a minnow
  9. I know you're looking for spots but there's a lot of tournaments on that lake and I don't think anyone is giving up any spots... best advice I can give you is that the more time you spend on it the more you will learn about it... if you ever want to get in to a tournament and need a co-angler let me know ill travel along
  10. I fish there often.. it is one of my favorite places to go. Are you fishing from land or boat? I went out there last week Tuesday.. it rained for 5 minutes if that. This place is all about 3 things.. the wind, movement of the water, and the water depth. It is hard to hide from the wind here and if the water is moving it is very hard to catch any fish sometimes its flowing like a river. If the water is too low the bass don't really bite in the canals either for whatever reason.. cant figure this one out and ive thrown every lure in the book in there... If the conditions are right you will slay them of course. Good luck happy fishing.
  11. West... wayyyy west
  12. Maybe you know or maybe you don't but Holey Lands is back open!! Bank fishing...Started down the main canal.. throwing 5" senkos of different colors.. caught a few hanging around different patches of pads nothing over 2lbs... made my way to my honey hole way out back by sta 5/6 and it turned on like no other day I've ever fished there. Second cast nice 5lb fat girl hit the senko on the retrieval. Every other cast was a fish. Good luck happy fishing.
  13. Have not had a chance to get out there in a while... anybody else? any luck? how bad is the water movement? Thanks
  14. no I drive a big silver chevy lol must have been someone else
  15. Thanks for the tip! much appreciated
  16. I was on land! were you with another guy? a boat trolled past me around sunset by the bridge that connects the big lake tot he canal.. big silver truck.. lol that's usually how it goes for me.. just one of those days.. I think I had bad timing I couldn't get anything to bite.. every now and then id feel a gar try to take off with my bait but that's it.. we'll get em next time!
  17. I went out there yesterday also but the water was moving way too fast to fish anything where I was at
  18. Quick update.. Went out there yesterday afternoon and they had every single pump flowing into the main and the Miami canal.. you would think this would be good news because I thought so too... the water was moving really fast and I couldn't even cast a bait without it dragging it down the canal.. I tried everything from worms with weights to crank baits and swim baits and that was the first time I got skunked out there lol.. I saw a few other people fishing also from shore and on boat and nobody caught a thing in the afternoon.. good luck
  19. nice fish dude.. my PB came out of Weston.. there are some big fish back in there
  20. It went really good.. got out there around 3 it was kind of chilly and the wind really didn't help but the wind ended up dying down around 430 and I was able to cast on my spots pretty good.. I went with a buddy of mine and he caught around 12 fish biggest was 3lb. I caught around 18 with nothing to write home about. Still looking for the big bass there but had a lot of fun and caught a ton of fish. Water was low where I was at. Fished with senkos all day.. tried a few drop shot rigs and got nothing on them. Senkos with no weight rigged like a regular worm seems to do the trick there. Didn't try any hard baits, thought about it though lol
  21. im heading out there again today ill let yall know how I do
  22. Yeah I drive a lifted chevy so I go wayyyyyy back in there lol good luck!
  23. give you a secret to Holey Lands.. don't fish the big lake.. the main canal has been producing as of late as well as the others depending how far you want to drive in and what kind of adventure youre looking for.. ive been there 3 times the last week and caught 10-20 fish every time.. biggest one was around 4lbs.. target lilly pad patches.. single out small patches and cast on them.. I use a lot of Senkos there and never had a problem catching fish
  24. I've been fishing Broward county by land since I could walk.. the best thing I ever did was buy a John boat (fishing Weston this way is awesome)..and BassinLou is correct.. I've spent countless hours on google earth.. eventually u will find what you are looking for.. trial and error
  25. Holey Lands has been on fire for me lately.. I go there often and always catch fish.. hit the main canal it has been producing lately.. nothing too big though maybe 2-4 lbs at best.. if you can navigate your way to Rotenberg its been lighting up out there also on the north end towards STA5/6.. good luck
