  1. I have the vortex 6'6 med for my walleye jigging rod. I really like it for that purpose. It use to be my wacky rig rod but i wanted something a little heavier action to get the fish out of the thick stuff faster. I know just what you're saying. I sometimes forget how fortunate my life is and i'm thankful very for the one I have.
  2. Hello everyone, Just in case anyone was still interested, I just picked up my rod! Lucky for me, I won an ice fishing tournament this weekend and received enough dough to purchase a... St. Croix Mojo Bass! Well out of my price range of what I thought I was going to be able to get. Just goes to show anything can happen! I am very excited to try it out this spring on some pigs (hopefully ). I also wanted to say thank you to all the contributed, I really do appreciate it! It creates faith that there are regular old real people out there that are willing to help others. Being in highschool you don't see very much kindness... Anyways, thank you to all and I hope this will help someone else in the future as well. Keep your lines tight and rods flexin' and also a good day -deerhunterj
  3. That is actually very helpful. I kinda needed something to push me over the edge for this rod and now I might just have to get it. Thank you!
  4. The fenwick eagle is also one of my top choices! I have a 5'9 eagle gt for panfish and I love the thing. My only problem is the guides getting a little bit indented by the line but it isn't really bad yet. The shock might end up being my rod of choice. It's nice that it's at wally world!
  5. Also, has anyone tried out the shimano sellus spinning? That is one I've been looking at for awhile. It seems to be a good rod... or so the reviews say.
  6. I know the feeling. Most of my rods are clearance of hand me downs. I will have to look at those bionic blades, thanks for the update! I saw the sedona's, but they are out of 2500's! If they weren't out of them, there would be one in the mail for me right now.
  7. Rod and reel Thank you for the welcoming! This post has already showed me how much people can help. I have heard some things about the shocks lacking any backbone. I was wondering if this was true?
  8. Thank you guys for all the help! I am taking everyone's suggestions into consideration. I am liking the president reel idea but I am more of a shimano guy. I like the looks of the Sedona, but I might go with the president.
  9. Hi guys, This is my first post on here! A very exciting day for me since I've been using the site a lot before this and never being able to contribute. Anyways, I am 15 and jobless and looking for a spinning rod I can chuck some senkos on this summer. Preferably in the 40-60 ish price range, although some slight exceptions could be made. Also, the length and action should be about 6'6-7'0 and med extra fast. Some rods I have been looking at have been the Shimano Sellus, Fenwick Eagle and HMX, Berkley Lightning shock, and some BPS rods. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks, and have a good day -Justen
